Apart from sometimes looking dodgy defensively, there is absolutely nothing wrong with Cancelo. The problem we do have is the complete lack of chemistry between our full backs and the wingers in front of them. Sterling should be benefitting hugely from having a creative full back behind him but there’s just nothing happening on that score.
 
I wonder if he's better suited to the left? He's got both the ability to play infield and as a conventional attacking fullback. I suspect he's still better on the right, but it's unlikely we're going to see him play there for a few consecutive games any time soon.

He could become our Azpilicueta, but even better in attack.

He’s certainly more comfortable taking people on down that side than our “left winger”.
