27 | Matheus Nunes - 2024/25

Im happy with his performances.

When ppl say he faded in the 2nd half, while true, most city players have one good half and another mediocre half, its the rest of the team who has to do more.

Nunes did what he needed to in the 1st half.

Foden did his bit, haaland couldnt score.

And Savio equally contributed quality chances and Haaland finished more to his standard... its a routine 3 or 4-0 win against a low block.
Haaland did score, didn't he.:-)

He’s taking his chance.

He’s only going to get better the more he plays. He’s doing well when you think how stop / start he’s city career has been.
Yeah thought he was really good tonight. Got a feeling he’ll be getting plenty of game time in the coming months.

We've got a run of games now where he could really make an impact and become a bigger player, Prague at home in the champions league, Southampton at home who are the worst team in the league and then the league cup game we don't want to be in, he should start all 3 imo, give him a run and see what he offers.

Said this after wolves and before we knew doku and grealish was injured. I'd like to say i'm happy my mystic Meg abilities haven't abandoned me but in truth he's far exceeded my expectation. Been sensational in all 3 games, motm in every one of them and produced more than any other winger has all season in those 3 games alone. immediately elevated himself to starting spot imo above doku and grealish.

I wouldn't be against dropping him into the middle either if player availability favours that as I think his legs in there would be a big asset right now.

Becoming very important.

imo we didnt sign him for left wing role but Pep doesnt like him in any midfield set up, but doing well on the left after we got used to almost no end product from Grealish in that role. somehow he Nunes gets 25/30 starts in PL on our left he would double Grealish's avg numbers easily imo.

this is the best bit of period for Nunes personally and with most wingers injured he will play for sure few more weeks.

I do not rate him as a CM (goes missing too much) but he looks like he can certainly do a job out wide. He’s comfortable on the ball and actually has some end product. With the injuries we have, he has somehow become one of our most important forwards.
