27 | Matheus Nunes - 2024/25

Took his chance and playing regularly is helping him become more confident.

He has been a threat going forward the last 3 games. Plus he seems to have become harder to knock off the ball which last season seemed to happen often.

A 50m+ player, once labeled "one of the best players in the world" by Pep, slowly turning out to be a very good player as soon as he gets consistent gametime. Who would have thought?
What's took him so long to produce something here? Pep needs to explain why he wasn't giving him any meaningful game time. He's certainly showed promise over the last 3 games although the opposition weren't all that taxing. Still onwards and upwards.

I've been a big critic of Nunes but I have to take my hat off to him and congratulate him on turning things round - might not even be a stretch to say he is our most important attacking player right now after Haaland

I can understand you giving Nunes praise but the following statement makes me fear you've recently suffered a bang to the head hope all is well.

Steady on lol

IIRC Sane had a total production of 25 goals, 29 assists over 4 years.

I'm not saying he's Sterling or Foden good but he given time could hit those numbers as he seems to have an eye for an assist and a goal and that's better than Jack (and I love Jack).

I love Gundo too but I think Jack can do that role better now.. heck we've even seen Doku in midfield bring the ball up.

Anyways whether I'm right or wrong.. I'm just happy he stepped up when we needed him and is justifying his transfer fee.

Now I wish I could say the same about Wolves who were failing FFP and needed to sell badly.. and we helped them out, yet they supported the Red Cartel against us in court.

Clearly Pep or he would have played him more, unless Pep never wanted a very good player of course.
