He is NOT a winger.


Play him RB, CM or any other position but not a winger.

I can't wrap my head around Pep not giving him a run of games in his NATURAL POSITION in the midfield.

Is he a downgrade in the midfield from what we've had in the past? OF COURSE, but how can Pep continue to watch Gundogan, Kovacic, Bernardo, KDB, etc., look like old men running backward when we're getting counter-attacked repeatedly and not think he could help us in that department?

Had a fantastic first half. That pass to haaland was brilliant. Poor for the penalty but I'm not digging him out for that one error amongst a sea of them tonight when he was comfortably one of the few good performers overall. Been our best player for a month, deserves to keep his place in a fitter squad. Want to see him central but seems unlikely.

I think there is an element of him looking good as everyone around him is looking shit. He did well first half but went missing second half and then gave away a pen. He was pretty anonymous for long periods at Bournemouth too.

He deserves to stay in the side though as he has been better than others and should be moved into the middle as soon as Doku/Grealish are fit.

He created more than anybody else in the entire league last weekend, in a team that couldnt get the ball, he deserves the credit without the backhanded compliment.

He’s in the side to score/assist. He's assisting and creating chances, doing his job, and offering much more in terms of end product than Grealish and Doku.

Clumsy challenge last night, but things like that happen.

Personally, I think he’s been brilliant and can’t quite get my head around some of the negativity. We’ve plenty of other areas to be concerned about than Nunes.

At the very minimum..

Nunes is not a disaster like Kalvin. Pep is clearly molding him into where he can use his qualities and cover his weaknesses better (and obviously there are weakenesses or he'd be out there in the middle)..

But just ask yourself this question.. other than KDB, Foden & Savinho.. do you see anyone playing key line breaking passes through to Haaland?

His G/A is better than a lot of more expensive & experienced players.. so his 55 mil isn't totally wasted..

And that's totally fine. A squad player should do a good job and be reliable when called upon. No point in having 5 top class players moaning about game time.
