Matheus Nunes vs Feyernord. There is a physicality to his game that predates Pep's shackling. And you can see glimpses here.

He'll be immense next season in my opinion. Has all the tools necessary to be a successful fullback.

I think the thing is Dax that perhaps Nunes himself still feels he is a midfielder - bit like Zinchenko played really well for us as a temporary left back but didn't get a look in in his preferred position due to us having peak Kev, Gundo, Ferna and Bernie. He moved on in the hope of returning to the role he had for Ukraine and ironically ended up as Arsenal's back up full back ha!

So Nunes may be making noises about that and as we know with the club if a player isn't happy they are moved on especially if we are now looking at specialised full backs.

He has all the physical tools. The issue with him, and has been since we bought him, is concentration. I actually quite like him, but he has a tendency to ruin the good things he's just done with a bad thing.

In the Champions League, Pep choose Akanji as a RB in the 1st leg & Khusanov in the 2nd

Nunes was benched on both games

Didn't start the Cup final against Palace

So kinda like Gvardiol? But with far different reactions. :)
I kinda get what you're saying - although Gvardiol played 3200 minutes and Nunes 1600 minutes and they both had the same number of mistakes leading to a goal in the league. Maybe he's earnt a bit more grace from the bluemoon faithful!

I bet Gvardiol has double the number of mistakes leading to a chance that should have been conceded.

Most people believe they can explain their reasoning in their minds, but in reality i think it's mostly a mental framing:

Here is what i believe most people do

A. He is a major error waiting to happen, but does lots of good things

B. Does lots of good things but sometimes has a few costly errors.

Both A and B describes the exact same person from different frames.

And both A and B describe Gvardiol and Nunes. A majority just tend to use B when talking about Gvardiol and A when talking about Nunes but don't recognize it

He definitely did make mistakes leading to a shot. 7 this season. I'm still of the opinion that the good stuff he does is better than the good stuff Nunes does but you may well be right.

How many did Nunes make?

Personally I think neither are good enough in the positions they mostly play. If we want to get back to winning titles and CL’s then we need to address this.

Nunes has worked hard though I’ll give him that and I’m comfortable with him as a squad player.

Gvardial needs to play CB now. Sign two proper full backs.

I think he will be our right back next season. Tbh, if we have someone quick to cover for him defensively, from midfield or defence, then we r golden. Fabian delph v2

I think he goes this summer
We are not messing about this time and I think he leaves maybe to forest as part of the gibbs white deal or to Saudi
Look at the efficiency of the new signings
It’s not as easy moving players on but I think after the club World Cup you will see a ruthless city

Was Nunes an unused sub for Portugal last night ?
