27 | Matheus Nunes - 2025/26

An excellent option against teams that are going to sit back. Khusanov at RB today would’ve been like playing a man short when we were attacking
It's good that we have different options depending on what sort of team we are playing and even for a plan B depending on the result.

He's the only player in the squad that needs to have an 8.0 to get any praise. If he has a 6.5, he might as well have done an Esteve according to our fans. The standards for him are ridiculously overblown.
Unfortunate for Esteve today, strangely, i thought he was by far their best defender.

We will eventually have our best team when Khusanov wins the RCB job and Nunes starts at RB.

It is so fucking obvious with the speed of Nunes, Khusa, and to a lesser degree Gvardiol and NOR, we can play a pressing high line with zero fear.

I'm just waiting till Pep to finally catches on. Been saying this since the summer....
I think pep will be concerned about the ball playing skills of these 4. Dias is no really better with the ball than Khusanov but you can still tell that Khusanov is very afraid to do something wrong thanks to the Chelsea game. You can tell by his body language. If he gets it right he will easily bench Dias ( if pep accepts it)

You can tell he plays like a box crashing midfielder out wide. Big improvement. I reckon it’s fair to say the club and Pep saw enough development from him last season to see out another 6 months before going to the market for a right back.

one thing I’ve noted, he’s reading situations well in transition. Will still give the ball away or make errors because that’s just defensive awareness not coming to him naturally, but overall his aggression on the right helps.

Good to know Pep needs to catch up with you.

I was impressed with his post match interview on City website. His English is superb. Think he is the first player I have heard use the word nuances.

Amusing that he call Pep "Mister". Another very likeable City player.

I do think he is imrpoving as an RB and, as Pep pointed out in his post match presser, there is so much more offensively he can offer in the role; which we got a taste of yesterday.
