27 years ago today

I was 7 and stood at the front of the Kippax like always, only this time I was right in the middle of a huge brawl. Shit myself, cried and got taken up to the back of the stand by my uncle where I couldn't see a thing. Strange how I can remember this game so clearly.

I was 18 and my first real memory of beating United. And what a way to do it. Great night doing the Wilmalow road crawl and then the Venue. Singing all the way.

Will always be grateful to my dad he took me to the Brentford league cup match (4-1) instead of the 5-1 derby. Great game against Brentford, might start a thread about it in a few days.

Ha! I had to go to a family friend's wedding so missed it. My dad took me to next home game v Luton to "make up for it". Cheers dad. To be fair Bish did score a diving header in that one too.

Incidentally, the married couple in question were both big blues and had booked the wedding day way before fixtures had come out. They were gutted. Can remember all the men being out in the car park from 3pm listening to car radios...and everyone going beserk when the third went in. I was only 9 years old but I remember everyone being battered by 9 pm...

17 in the North stand. 100 or so Utd got tickets in there off a tout iirc. Big mistake, they were rightly kicked out 5 minutes after kick off with most of them going over the fence onto the pitch and walking back to the platt lane with their tails between their legs. Great day.

The only two derbies that I managed to get to were in this season. The one at the Theatre of Shite would have been more memorable had we got a better centre forward than Wayne fucking Clarke at that time. But happy days and it nearly comes close to Aguerooooo!! for the sheer jubilation and relief at having smashed the fuckers out of site.
