having 3 games in hand which have to be squeezed somewhere into an already congested agenda is going to test us to the limit.

Agreed mate, and maureen just makes himself look like a moron again by trying to make out that it's an advantage.

Nah, never a moron when he does it; that's just being "clever", mind games innit ;-)

Terry twat, why did he score yesterday, it would be great two points dropped for them.

He didn't, Howard made a complete balls of it. Was terry credited with the goal? Whoever put the ball in the box should be credited with the goal.

What a time to be a blue.this kind of scenario is here for the foreseeable future.lap it up fellow blues.win the league or not it fuckin beats hovering around mid table.

Can see the concern about games in hand but we know when the rags fixture is and the other two, Sunderland and Villa are both at home where I'd definitely fancy us to win.

After next weekend the COC is done and dusted one way or another and it's highly likely we'll only have one more CL game. Got a good draw in the FA Cup. So could well be only 15 games in total plus another 2 FA Cup games. With a fully fit squad we should be confident. Hull away looks a potential banana skin, gave us a good game at our place and quite a tough nut to crack on their own patch plus we're in barca on weds night and hull on sat lunchtime but to be champs we've got to win this type of game. Liverpool away, and potentially a night game, certainly won't be easy but still fancy our best 11 v theirs.
With a fully fit squad, yes, but we don't seem to have the ability behind the scenes to get it that way. We have had major players out for extended periods from before the season even kicked off, and I haven't seen anything to suggest that this is about to change.

I look at it like its in our own hands

If we win all our games, or match chelsea's results we will still win the league on goal difference.

Just want to sleep and wake up when its al done and dusted, kompany lifting the trophy!

And we'll prob be 9 points above scum with 3 games in hand, how the mighty have fallen, banter at work just keeps getting easier

??? Definitely Terrys goal?

At the end of Nov following the Spurs game we had 22pts from 12 games. It was at this point in the season when the new players and the manager had properly bedded in and the away form which had been so poor was "fixed". Since then we have gained 35pts from 14 games (2.5pts per game) with a win ratio of 78.5%. If we can sustain this until the end of the season we will finish on between 87 or 89 depending on whether you use points per game or win ratio as the guide. I think this will be enough.
The arguments against doing this are probably "4 of the games are particularly tough" and "we will have a fixture congestion."
I would counter that with "when the going gets tough…" and, if as seems likely, we are knocked out of UCL and Chelsea (our rivals I feel) progress , we will only play a maximum of 1 game more than them between now and May 10 (we will have 1 UCL, FA Cup quarter and semi hopefully plus 1 extra league game and the League Cup Final; they will have at least 4 UCL games).

It's not only in our hands but also in our grasp.
