Ruben's the embodiment of 'we need to suffer to win big games' Pep mantra and has rubbed on to others.
City defenders who, other than Ota, seemed to take pride from their ball playing skills until this guy came and made defending a celebration just like scoring.
Long may it continue !

An absolute rock. Unbelievable performance that. The whole back four were fantastic though. Walker still has the odd little error in him, like the pointless flick after winning the ball, but they were all just putting everything on the line to prevent PSG from scoring.

Credit needs to go to the whole team though. We were always forcing them to go wide with the ball where we left their full backs open in order to keep them away from goal and stop them finding space centrally to create chances and score. When they did get anywhere near the box we had Dias and Stones just putting everything on the line to prevent them from scoring. Dias using his face, Stones winning everything in the first half. The Neymar run where Dias flies in to block the shot, Neymar keeps going then Stones and Zinchenko fly in and Zin blocks it. Incredible effort. The celebration from them afterwards was insane.

Pep presumably gave them a game plan to execute and the whole back four were superb. I had Zin as MotM for delivering one of the most complete displays I've seen during Pep's time. Ruben was a colossus though and simply led in every way that you can and took his game up a notch yesterday because the opponent demanded it. Not sure yet what his ceiling is.

I've said before, we got lucky that Benfica went out of the UCL before the transfer window shut but there was no luck involved in choosing Dias: City knew he was top quality; although they may still be a little surprised at just how well he has done in his first season.

£80m for slabhead
£90 for Koulibaly
£54m for Father Ruben

Think Txiki played a blinder
Not only did he cost 54m, we sold Otamendi for 15m to Benfica to help them out. Txiki needs a statue outside the ground.
