An unbelievable performance from him last night. 10/10.
Pep presumably gave them a game plan to execute and the whole back four were superb. I had Zin as MotM for delivering one of the most complete displays I've seen during Pep's time. Ruben was a colossus though and simply led in every way that you can and took his game up a notch yesterday because the opponent demanded it. Not sure yet what his ceiling is.
I've said before, we got lucky that Benfica went out of the UCL before the transfer window shut but there was no luck involved in choosing Dias: City knew he was top quality; although they may still be a little surprised at just how well he has done in his first season.
People are mentioning him in the same breath as Van Dijk this morning so his ceiling is sky high based on that! In all seriousness, I haven't seen many defensive performances as good as that. It's hard to pick just one of them, but he's definitely been a catalyst to the others improving their games. Stones undoubtedly has worked very hard to get back to this level, but Dias has helped him get there. The celebrations when they prevent a goal are so good to see. I was there celebrating them the same way I was when Mahrez got his goals. It is 90s football where the fans see someone put their body on the line and it just instantly gives you a rush. It's what we would be doing if we played, but it's not something you see all too often these days.
They've been like that regardless of the opposition though and Dias is so consistent for someone so young. He turns 24 this month! That performance at 23 years of age is quite remarkable.
It's not a pretty read for a few folk!Had to look back at his transfer thread from the summer after that masterclass last night. Some absolute corkers in there. Paging @MillsyTheMosher !!
