This guy’s influence almost passes without comment these days, such is his consistency. By far and away the best choice as captain.

Not a good thing, this. In the last month of last season he started making mistakes and his usual well timed slide tackles started to become Hollywood slides that often got read by the attacker and bypassed.

He’s been great again this season but he needs a lot more rests than he got last season. Good to see him get one yesterday, hopefully one of many.

Please don’t burn this lad out, he’s a gem!

A natural leader , captain and successor to Fernandinho as club captain , which ever scout spotted his potential knows his onions.

I think that what a real battle for him today, but he can be happy with a lot of what he did.

The best player with Rodri today. His attitude as usual is top-notch. I wish LaPorte and Cancelo would have half of his aggressiveness and focus.

Not his best game imo.

He goes to ground far too much. Not sliding while being the last man is just grade-school stuff.

Laporte's red he barely gets off the ground to challenge for the header.

The way he lunged to ground for their goal was exactly what Otamendi got slated for over and over. Poor defending, whichever way you look at it.
