I thought he was a bit shaky against Norwich. His passing was off slightly. Class defender and the criticism is only due to the high standards he himself set.

Still the best defender in world football fo rme. But going through a rough patch for some reason. Not performing up to his potential lately.

Bit of a shaky start then steadied. By no means a bad performance but personally I no longer think in our best 11 it's Dias and another, you can legitimately leave him out.
I agree , it goes to show the level stones and laporte are playing at . If we can keep these 3 happy over the coming years were set with 3 of the best cb’s in world football .

Always feel it’s a question of balance. Laporte and Stones are more likely to risk a through ball forward to the midfield or carry it into that area, whereas Dias and Ake are less risk averse and more comfortable farming it to the full backs and allowing play to develop across the park. That means it tends to be slower and sometimes more predictable. That’s why a combination of Dias and an other is generally preferable, albeit it can depend on the opposition threat as well.

Great post. 100% agree.

Looked like Lescott at his worst just clumsy and stumbling over the ball

He’s vastly overrated. He’s a a good player but talk and awards of best defenders in the world are way OTT.

He’s our Carlos Puyol. Will give 100% every game, is a great leader/talker but in terms of technical ability and defensive acumen he’s not that elite standard.

Might have been his worst performance in a City shirt. Throw in poor performances from Walker to his right and Rodri in front of him and it made for a terrible day.

That’s a bloody harsh take after what he has delivered in his City career so far.

Played better on the left side next to Stones. Ditch all this right footer on the right, left footer on the left bollocks and go back to what was working.
