Don't see how he gets back in at the moment. Not a guaranteed starter for me.

Makes sense, leaves dias with a big task to get back in though
I think there will be a lot of rotation and a few injuries that will allow all of the CBs to play plenty. It did feel unsettling not having Dias in the starting 11 but it’s reassuring how strong we are in that position. Both Akanji and Ake were solid.

Some games just require a different combination and we are lucky to have 5 cbs who offer us plenty of different options.
Yesterday Pep chose the two who he thought would work best. He was right.

It depends on the opposition. Liverpool made Ake and Cancelo look abysmal by pressing them and forced them into playing to each other, knowing that Ake was going to favour passing left and Cancelo would want to use his right foot and pass inside. Klopp was all over that. Laporte is a step above Ake on the ball, but Ake is quick and superb in the air. Akanji has been different class though, he's got that right side nailed down. Even Sir John might struggle to remove him. Great to have so many options - particularly with the WC interruption and where our defence was last season in the latter stages. This is a squad that can win the CL.
