3 year contract for Mancini

Number eight on the Rapidly concocted and adopted Mancini apologist excuses list is the comical 'we can't win the league every year'.

Probably even weaker than 'city fans have become spoilt'. Incredible stuff...

I see Conti at Juventus is being strongly linked with the Spuds by the broadsheets.

-- Fri Apr 06, 2012 9:48 am --

I genuinely believe a large spectrum of City fans have been conditioned to accept what is on their plate, to accept second best, because that is all the club has known.

It's not realism, it's not pragmatism, it's a sheer inferiority complex and a fear of what happens if something goes wrong.

Mancini has been seriously found wanting, erratic behaviour, in these last two months.

Listen Dave, don't try pigeonholing me into one of these daft little groups so many of you on Bluemoon spend you lives bickering about. I don't define myself as a 'Mancini apologist' but I'll say whatever I feel when presented with someone talking nonsense. I'm open to all sorts of views on the manager and certainly don't have my head buried up his arse, but to suggest that finishing second is an underachievement worthy of being fired is quite clearly ludicrous.

I posted something very similar to that in the weird 'realisation of our club' thread. Years of attacks from utd kids and sections of the press have sunk into some minds and fed on the insecurity in there .

We are Manchester fucking city. The club who's support was the envy of the footballing world. Who were a watchword for passion and loyalty. The club who matched man utd stride for stride until ridiculous chairmen wrecked the club.

Now we have the best owner in world football. We have kompany, aguero, silva and hart. Players who would get into any team. The Phoenix has risen from the flames.

Get your fucking heads up, have some pride and realise that the future is now. Not tomorrow. Now.

Carpe diem.

Don't talk like those clowns then.

Unless we win the league, this season as a whole will be a huge underachievement.

I don't think anyone should be fired for finishing second but if the owner doesn't see Mancini as the long term future and the guy that will take us onto European and domestic dominance (by extending his contract), then we should part with him and bring whoever the owner thinks is the best man for the job.

The same would still go even if we won the league.

It's starting to do my head in that there are so many on here who don't want Mourinho. Some of the reasons put forward are laughable. Every City fan should want the best for our club, and there's no doubt in my mind that Mourinho is the best. Just ask United fans what they think of the prospect of our owners resources + an already excellent squad + Mourinho's genius.....

Once again. Finishing second is not the problem. I'd have bitten your hand off for second at the beginning of the season.

The second is the manner in which we have allowed a 10 point swing to occur in the title race...amongst other things which I do not feel like listing right now.
