McAtee has experience of the League from his time at Sheffield was more what I meant. I agree with a lot of your post, I think Echeverri has a higher ceiling than Alvarez but he was more suited to make an instant impact as he was very well suited to English football physically. His pressing was elite and he was very tactically aware aswell.
Claudio does some great things, I love how expansive his passing range is, he has a wicked shot and always tries to create things. He can use both feet aswell which is a massive plus. He actually reminds me a lot of De Bruyne. To my eyes though he is still incredibly raw at the moment and while he has clear massive potential that's all it is at the moment. I'd be amazed if he was given first team minutes for City this season. He needs to be looked after and brought along very slowly.
I suggested the EDS until the end of the season more so he can settle into very different surroundings under no pressure and let our coaches get a good look at him and decide whether he can play a part with the first team next season or he needs a loan for more regular football.
What's your opinion on the other young lad at River, Mastantuono? I thought he looked more mature than Claudio despite being younger, only seen him a couple of times though maybe he just had a very good game.
