Boring yes absolutely
I think we’re at 80%, we can dominate the game but in years gone by we would score early and force the other team out
Now we’re not moving the ball quickly or having a killer pass, or even taking a pop from 20 yards out
I think that’s easy to solve

My big worry is we don’t look like we can compete physically with the top teams
We play the same in that we dominate and press the opponents in but the difference is our quality in the final third is non existent.

He is a real talent, and anyone who watched youth football will know that he is rated as one of the biggest prospects in the world game. He has directness, dribbling ability, vision, tight control and finishing. If he reaches the potential he has, he could be one of the best players in the world.

This talk of 'it'll soon be coached out of him' is utterly dull. We have a track record of exciting and exhilarating football and nearly every player in world football will recognise us as the best team in Europe of the decade. Suddenly, we have a relatively poor season, and every single aspect of our play, our tactics, and our player development is being ridiculed - by our own fans. We are record breakers, treble winners, and centurions. Not being able to cope with one season of not winning reflects very badly on us.

Lol, the football of the last few seasons has been dull as dishwater, people just weren't complaining as we were picking up trophies along the way, if we are being honest watching us pass the ball around for the sake of it for 90 minutes isn't entertaining to most football fans whatsoever.

This lad looked amazing throughout the last tournament yet could barely get a training session with our squad, its typical of Pep when you see who he has overlooked though, we have a fantastic academy yet he has no trust in utilising the players, other Clubs would have had to in our situation. And yes there are a number of players who have had literally had their directness coached out of them, Grealish at Villa was a different animal, Foden used to get hooked everytime he misplaced a few risky balls etc.

I don't agree.

Echeverri could barely get a training session? His arrival at the club was announced on the 27th February 2025. I think your statement is nonsense.

Grealish at Villa was the star in a team devoid of trophies and competitiveness. He was given the license to be a maverick but chose, himself, to come to a winning club. That he has to play within a structure does not stop him doing individually great things. If it did, DeBruyne would have been nullified as an attacking threat for his entire time with the club. Directness is not coached out of the players - it is an urban myth borne of frustration.
Phil Foden is the reigning PL POTY. He has long been recognised as one of the greatest talents in the world game. He is 24 and has six league winners medals.
O'Reilly, Lewis, Bobb, and Foden suggest your comment about the academy is also folly. I think of all the players released by the academy and I don't know of one playing at the top of world football as a regular first-team player, with the possible exception of Cole Palmer. People will talk of others like Frimpong, or Morgan Rogers, but they left years ago, and have had four years of development to reach the level they are now at. Fans here cannot even accept that Lewis is developing as a player, and when I have previously suggested more use being made of the academy, many on here have castigated me stating that we would be sacrificing trophies. It seems that we have just become too used to success, and far too used to moaning about everything that doesn't go exactly as we want it to go.

Utter fuckwittery.

Has to stay surely.

When he came on, my nephew informed me that Etchevetchy was coming on, gave me a laugh and I'm never letting him live that one down.

Depends upon how many players we sign this summer and how they think his development is best served. Working backwards from where we currently are, neither Reiss or Echeverri are registered in the CL squad because we had too many foreign slots already filled. I expect that we'll be signing 4-5 players minimum this summer and a similar number will leave. It's a tricky balance to strike especially as I expect Stones and Grealish (along with Walker) will go and we'll need homegrown players to replace them in some capacity.
