30 | Claudio Echeverri - 2025/26 (on loan at Leverkeusen)

He should go on a loan to a top Chanpionship side like Coventry or team up with Mubana at Stoke in the second half of the season.

why would they play him because he's on loan from city doesnt carry much weight
The 4 players we loaned to championship teams this season are all playing regular football and two of those are with clubs that are currently promotion contenders.
Echeverri and Simpson Pusey went to 2 clubs with higher profiles and are getting little or no game time.

Not sure if you call this regular game time

Maybe not but its more than Simpson Pusey and Echeverri are getting
Pusey situation is bizarre. We have had several players on loan on much better Celtic teams play frequently.

I think Echeverri is just case of the chaos that has been at Leverkusen. Now that it has stabilised we might see him play more. He has played in the last two matches against premium opponents.

I pointed Aloeyne as that example is the opposite. He started almost every game at the start of the season and did well. Then they sacked the manager and replace him with Gracia and he has not played since.

Loaning players is always a risk, but one we have to take.
Better to have some control, if at all possible.
That Echeverri refused a CFG move is a shame.

Is he allowed to?
Yes. Patrick Roberts was on loan to Celtic from us and played in both legs of the CL tie back in 2016. UEFA believes that preventing such appearances would merely weaken sides and dilute the overall quality of the competition, so better there be no restrictions.

One can never tell whether the manager will remain in place for the season and how any change might affect a player's loan. It's one of the reasons I'm glad Middlesborough have rebuffed Wolves' approach for Edwards; Nypan has settle nicely there and is in line for a solid season. I do wonder in Echeverri's case whether we should have insisted on bringing him to the club earlier and then loaned him out immediately in England. If my understanding of Nypan's situation is correct, a reason we were keen for him to play on Teeside and not on the continent is that he will henceforth qualify as homegrown.
