He should have saved it pure and simple. Nothing really could have been done about the winner but he had enough time to see and get down to the first. It’s not the first time this season he has been beaten like that. I wouldn’t necessarily say it was a keeping error but I really think he should be saving that.

No debate,while he has a decent command of his area,and he's an amazing player when it comes to distribution,he isnt' the best shot stopper.

that’s it really but his shots to save ratio is poor. If he played for someone who faced more shots it would be interesting.
 
There is no debate if you get a hand to a shot from 18 yards then the keeper has every chance of keeping it out , he is a brilliant keeper the best in the league but if he makes an error it will get highlighted because of his high standards. He gets praise for the countless times he has saved us and criticism when he could do better, like all players.
 
Its not he first time I have posted when he has got a hand to the ball and its still gone in. Leeds another example. Think there was one vs Borrussia too. Maybe he needs stiffer wrists.
 
I sometimes think as he plays for such a dominant side and Isn’t making save after save that his concentration or application isn’t what it would be if he say played for a mid table side.
Sam Johnston for instance or nick Pope although decent keepers aren’t what I would class as amazing keepers but when you are constantly called into action you are going to be sharper and look like you are doing amazing things game after game.
 
Now we've got plenty of the goalkeeping experts in here, if Ederson hadn't got a hand to the shot, would you be saying a powerful and precise shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the box should be saved?

He's being criticised for doing something many keepers wouldn't even be able to do, he had no right whatsoever to get anything on it nevermind save it, this is by far the worst thread for unjust criticism. Ridiculous to suggest he should save that.
