31 | Ederson - 2022/23 Performances

He's been top class recently. Actually making saves now which is amazing. He got a bit lucky today though but can't have your best performance every match. Hopefully this is just a one off, a reminder of how far he's come and not to be complacent. Onwards.
 
I like how Ederson can be calm and just give you the confidence we've a keeper with the ability of KdB in net. However, he isn't always switched on and he's been very lucky at times this season. He just has games where he's too slopped and could easily have given away a goal today. Sometimes he just seems either not to concentrate or misjudge how quick the opposition are.

Ederson revolutionised English goalkeeping. When he arrived in England, keepers kicked the ball long as soon as it came to them. Nowadays, every single keeper is a 'sweeper keeper'. Arguably, he's been the most influential keeper in English football in decades, but he now needs to up his game.

I wouldn't honestly be surprised if he was moved on.
 
Get Ortega in goal,he's far more consistent and reliable and I strongly suspect our defence has more faith in him.
Ederson is unpredictable and he quite often causes confusion,he will never change.

Like I’ve said before, some people, like Pep, get what Ederson is, and what he brings to the team.

Others, like you, don’t.

You can’t see what you can’t see, and there’s absolutely no shame in it.

We would not have beaten Arsenal as well with Ortega in goal. He is good with his feet but not as good as Eddie.
 
He had a slightly lesser performance, yesterday, but he has been in top-class form and is one of the world's premier keepers. We would be a far lesser team without him, IMO.
 
I think the opinion about Ederson is very biased due to the simple fact that we are … CITY-fans. 90-plus percent of our fans get nerves when Ederson calmly controls and invites the opponent to press him only to create space for our players. He just performs like Pep wants him. If he doesn’t he will get an angry Pep in his neck like when playing Arsenal.

Ederson is a great goalkeeper. Not superb but good enough. And thing is he is the perfect goalkeeper in a Pep team. And that includes a few mistakes like any other player makes them.
