I can forgive mistakes, basic errors etc, but playing the cocky smartarse at this level is totally unacceptable. Especially for a goalkeeper.
So, just to be clear, you can forgive him for being a cocky smartarse as long as it doesn’t go wrong?

So therefore it’s the execution of his smartarsery that’s your issue.

And just to be clear, in order to provide some context to your perspective, in his six years at the club, and his approaching 300 appearances, how many times has this smarrarsery led to us conceding a goal?

And can you list those occasions?

Given your stated threshold for forgiveness.

Like I’ve said before, some people, like Pep, get what Ederson is, and what he brings to the team.

Others, like you, don’t.

You can’t see what you can’t see, and there’s absolutely no shame in it.
Pep is not going to drop Ederson for a rush of blood or making a mistake. Ederson is Pep's no 1 and he is integral to the way we play and I can't see that changing for the foreseeable.

He's perfect for the game we play. With that in mind, I can't (off the top of my head) think of any keeper in the league that I'd swap him for. But he does have the occasional "WTF" moment.

He did yesterday, twice, he almost got caught out dawdling on the ball and then coming out when Diaz had the play under control. However, I wouldn’t swap him for anyone else, yes, he made me shout at the telly but let’s face it, he must be bored witless sometimes. I’m sure he does things to liven it up a bit:)

The whole point is he nearly gets caught dawdling. That’s the risk he takes so that the player receiving the pass is in more space. The tactic doesn’t work if he passes it too early.

It’s a phenomenally difficult thing to do from both a physical and mental point of view. That’s why he’s essentially unique and integral to the way we play the game.
