I honestly think if anyone thinks ederson should save that 3rd goal they are visually impaired.

Prob just watch the slow motion replay and think it’s easy.

Saying that his passing was poor today and he doesn’t want to be here. My fav player but he needs to be sold

I welcomed back the old Eddie after the Ipswich game, thought he was back to his best, think I might of been a bit premature :(

There’s a row of about 5 defenders who could go for the ball. The 1 that did, ducked under the fucking thing. I’m looking at those guys rather than Eddie.

Of course it’s an error by stones. But I’ve just watched @twosips on YouTube also blame ederson. It’s mad to me. It was a bullet header low down right in the corner.

Ed was great tonight. Not easy for goalkeeper to have
Lewis,Gvardiol,Akanji and Nunes in front of him.

No keeper is going to have fun with these idiots letting everyone have uncontested shots from 8 yards all game. Didn't stand a chance

Can understand people saying he shouldn't save any tonight but fact is it's because he gets absolutely nowhere near them and doesn't even try to. The second goal he has time to flap an arm out at it while he's still sat on his arse, he could try actually getting up and reacting and the third he just doesn't read it. The best keepers in the world save at least 1 of 2 of them tonight and get you out of a hole when you need it. They save things you don't expect them to save and ederson just doesn't do that at the moment. His head just doesn't look in it whatsoever
They've hit the bar, it's bounced straight to their player who hits it first time from 6 yards into the corner, how quickly are you expecting him to react? I've never seen a keeper that could have got up and set himself to dive for the rebound that went into the corner and in off the post.

As for the third, what specifically hasn't he read? The keeper is set in a normal position, the ball comes in and he moves with it. He cannot move any sooner across unless he's absolutely certain it's unreachable by anybody ahead of him from the direction the ball is coming, given that stones attempts to head it, that will indicate that the ball was reachable. As the ball goes beyond stones, ederson is following the ball as you'd expect, his position is perfect at all times.

It's a rapid delivery met with a brilliant bullet header straight into the back post off a slippy surface, there's not a single keeper who saves that. None. Ederson made a number of top quality saves that kept us in it and those have been ignored for some reason.

Maybe it was a bit harsh but we've watched for years opposing keepers make ridiculous saves against us. We're one of the best teams in the world - dont think its unreasonable to want one of the best shot stoppers too...look at what Courtois does against us? He saves shots like that IMO. His movement is poor. He barely shifts from his set position to cover that side when the cross goes deep and his feet just arent ready for anything at the near post hence getting nowhere near it.
.
Think he reacted pretty slowly for the second too arguably. I get how they both go in but I just don't feel there was absolutely nowt he could do. Maybe I'm wrong and projecting cos he clearly doesn't want to be here anymore.

I think we've generally turned a blind eye to Eddys non-optimum shot stopping due to his reliability and ridiculously calm passing/distribution.

Recently the passing and distribution has also been lacking and if he's not amazing at either then it's time for him to move on.
It happens, mentally people need to freshen up and a change of scenery is sometimes for the best.

Think you need to do a pod with a keeping expert.

No point getting into a lengthy debate because we obviously disagree. He's extremely slow to react to both goals and that's why he doesn't get close. Better keepers on the top of their game get their for me and make something happen. It's what top players do. The saves he made later in the game were basics and frankly irrelevant when the games already lost.

Get rid!
Forget about the shot stopping, which has always been average, but his distribution was disgraceful, blasting passes into players expecting them to control it, kicking out of play, conceding possession.

He's always had a few loose screws now those screws are completely gone. We're only playing him to keep his market value high for a sale to Saudi in summer.

That’s the thing. Ederson rarely makes Onananana style cock ups but also rarely pulls off the mega worldy saves.

Not the save but I feel he should have spotted the absence of cover at his back post and screamed at his defenders to sort it out. If you look at the replay we have two players marking nobody on the edge of the box but McAtee is tasked with looking after three players at the back post and then goes down as the cross comes in, possibly fouled but that wasn't really relevant as he was never going to cut out the cross anyway. The lack of organisation in our defending after Dias went off was disgraceful.

That third one, Eddy was already leaning towards the right, Joao Neves had a soft contact with the ball and his header was directed towards the right, the exact same position Eddy was already leaning towards, a simple outstretched arm could have stopped that one. I don't know if there's still some resentment there from the Ortega situation last season but something doesn't seem right with him.

Keepers are a crazy bunch and Eddie is definitely one of them. When he’s good he’s the best. I love him and wouldn’t swap him for anyone.

Agree he’s the worst penalty keeper in history.

The thing I can't accept is that he was at Benfica. He played for them for 15 months and there's highlight reels of him making great save after great save.

He's a worse player than when we bought him at 22.
