He said he wanted to stay where he is so that tells you he is happy with his life there! That's fair enough some players just like to not be pushing for the top when they've been around world class players even youth players at city who sees and are as good or better than him!

With Rodri returning and Gonzalez, who is only a year older than Perrone, bought for 50 million GBP, it's hard to see a future for him at the Etihad. Pity, as he was on the bench for Argentina against Brazil in March, so I suspect he's close to making the national breakthrough.
Is he though? He's only six months younger than Rodri was when we signed him from Atletico but he's not made it to 100 appearances yet, is yet to play in a European competition, and is yet to score a goal in senior European football. At the same age Rodri had already played in the Champions League, won the Super Cup (starting the final), and took Spain to the U19 Euros. If Perrone wins the Balon d'Or in 2030 then I'll buy you a Sprite.Sigh..

I dunno about Balon D'or but I do think Maximo could be part of a CL winning squad by 2030.
With non strikers.. balon d'or isn't really a consideration!

Probably, but he’s contracted until 2028, so it’s not guaranteed as I can’t see Como paying much for him.He will be gone by then.

I saw someone on Reddit who is a Como fan say that Perrone has been really, really good.Fabregas, current Como boss, is in shortlist for Leverkeusen job and would like to bring Perrone with him.
That ship looks to have sailed sadly, always looked a great prospect in his pre-season appearances but it's clear he does not want to come back here.Would like to see this kid come back and see what he can do for us .

I went to the Como v Cagliari game last Saturday.
Perrone was MoM by a distance, playing in CDM he totally controlled the game from the first minute. He was always in the right place to receive the ball, his touch was excellent and he never seemed rushed or under pressure. His passing was generally inch perfect. I can only recall him losing possession once. He really made the whole team click. I wasn't sure what to expect from him but I must admit I was very impressed. I was wearing my City shirt and got chatting to a few Como fans before and during the game about Perrone, they all said he has been great for them this season.
His OPTA stats for the game backed up what I saw with my own eyes.
He is 22 now, if he continues to progress then I reckon in a couple of years he will be at one of the top clubs.
Another young Argentinian who had a great game for Como was Nico Paz - another one for the notebook.

I'd take Nico Paz now in preference to McAtee,
I'd let Leverkusen have McAtee, they'd shown interest in him earlier this season.
I think both Paz and Perrone will be permanent fixtures in the Argentina team in the coming years.

So reading this thread, city have a player out on loan that is a shoe in for the balon dor, that has a contract with city until 2028, but he doesn't want to play for us so we are going to give him away, have I missed something???
