33 | Nico O'Reilly - 2025/26

Brilliant and definitely a better option at lb than Josko is. Really did a number on mbuemo and it was clear they tried to pick on him without any success.

Looked really strong and comfortable.
As others have noted he and Khuanov played really well defensively but we have the options of Nurses and RaN who play a much more attacking from wide game.

I enjoyed his performance. Don't recall him being beaten down the line when in position, but it may have happened once or twice.

What I really liked was his (I'm sure it was a) 'no look' meg than led to the Haaland 2nd. I'm sure he was looking down the line at one of the defenders when he popped it through the oppo's legs.

It was deft and beautiful!
Second half he was miles away from their winger, against better teams we will be punished.

Like ive said before, i see a potential world class left back, but an okay midfielder.

He had a really good game, so to critisice seems a little harsh, but he switches off too often to be a full back, and that's difficult to critisice as he isn't a full back, but his man, Mbuemo had 4 chances 3 in the box. Against top teams its a different outcome. Again great game so not trying to critisice him too much.

Happy he's getting time and puts up solid performances everytime.

Deserves to be a part of our spine going forward!

I was both surprised and delighted that Nico was picked, yesterday. I imagined that we would shift Josko over but to select Nico ahead of Ake was a statement of intent. I am pleased he delivered as solid competition for Ait-Nouri can only be a good thing in the long-run. Josko has clearly cemented that CB position too, and Dias looked a lot more solid.

I thought he was very good. I hope we see lots more of him.

He is a much better LB than Lewis is a RB. In fact I'd wonder if he's a better RB than Lewis too.

Think that was his best performance for us in terms of being a full back. He's starting to learn how to use his body more - tidy nutmeg to set up the 2nd goal as well.

The key thing for me is that he adds a bit of badly needed steel and height to the defence which combined with Khusanov made us fairly solid at the back yesterday. Probably not a natural full back but is doing a much better job of imitating one than others.

Did well, is a good player, but was getting turned around a bit by Diallo seconds half. Would much rather see Ake there against Madueke next week.
That mainly came from Savinho not tracking Diallo. Diallo was uniteds right wing back, NOR cant be expected to mark him and mbeumo. As soon as doku went off it was 2 v 1 and Nico did really well in difficult circumstances. I thought he was excellent throughout.

Ake from two years ago maybe, but I'm not sure he's got the legs now. I'd be concerned about him against any type of pace

Don't think he was wingback yesterday. Certainly wasn't at the start - they set up like below - and I think when Mezraoui went off Mainoo dropped in there, but could be wrong about that part.

Could have had more help though you're right, but he did still get turned a bit when he was 1v1 in the box. Madueke is way more tricky than Diallo.
