35 years of hurt...your top five low points

1. GILLINGHAM..2-0. i just walked away...like my heart was broken...it was two relegation s and a season (which to be honest was lucky we got our momentum going in the end after a dreadful start) even at two -one my head was still down.

2. scum 3-2.... yeah even keane scored

3. scum 2-1 FA Cup in the swamp... uwe scored and i screamed a battlecry which i m sure was heard from miles away!

4.great game for the neutral but owens 4-3 in the swamp...

5.spuds at home last year.... we forgive you crouch

2006/07 season when we lost 3-0 at home to Blackburn. I was at University in Cardiff at the time and I had an exam on the Monday that I hadn't done much revision for. I wasn't going to come to the game, but as you do last minute, told my Dad I was coming. We were absolutely shocking, and I can still remember Matt Derbyshire robbing Stephen Jordan and slotting in their 3rd. As I drove home I wondered why the hell I'd made the effort. Thankfully I passed the exam. There's been so many more moments mentioned by other people, but this one for me sticks out.

All of these moments made Wembley even more special.

Not starting a new thread for it but, what was awarded our goal of the season in 2006-07?

All these bad memories came flooding back and I can't remember us scoring a really memorable goal. Beasley away at West Ham possible, Samaras at home to West Ham or Trabelsi at Old Trafford are the only ones I can really think of.

Saying that Distin at Villa wasn't bad.

1.F.A.cup final replay against Spurs 81
2.Relegation in 95,especially with he rags winning the prem on the same day.
3.Relegation in 83 against Luton.never thought it possible, and the start of our decline.
4.losing against the rags after leading 2-0 at Maine Road
5.Any time before keegan got left,we just had no idea at all.

1. Alan Ball. One of the worst things to happen this club.
2. The sale of Niall Quinn. He was my idol, was gutted when he left.
3.Relegation to divison 3.
4.Losing to spurs in 93 cup quarter final, genuinely thought it was goona be our year!
5.Losing 2-3 to rags at maine road after big Nialls 2 goals.

Luton home in THAT game.
Stoke away in THAT game.
Ex-blue Alan Bailey mocking Weaver's Wembley celebration as he leathered home a late penalty for Stockport fucking County
Rolling around on the floor fighting a plastic rag farm boy in a pub in Cork on a stag do, as Alan fucking Ball laughably pissed away our top flight status at home to Liverpool.
Owen's 99th minute winner at the swamp.

Why has the vision of Alan Bates and Ollie Reed doing a bit of 'wrestling' come into my head when i read this...? :)
Aaaaahaaaahaaaa!!!!!!
No, 1bc, no Canal Street shenanigans, just pure pissed up rage and mutual hatred. Not a good idea for someone who had never been to England, let alone Manchester, to walk up to a dozen or so blues giving it the big un while wearing a snide rag shirt.

1- Lincoln fucking city at home on my 18th birthday, I think it was 4-0(and my dear mother had passed on a half time birthday message 'Happy 18th to Mark O'P**y lots of love from his mummy and daddy) just what you need when you are on the piss with your mates.

2- 4-2 spurs absolutely broken man every dream ruined.(I thought it was our year)

3- Stockport County everytime we played them we lost(scum)

4- 5-0 at the swamp that was a disaster of epic proportions.

5- Bury 1-0 at Maine Road a heartbreaking day, the lowest moment I can remember.

Everyone here old enough to remember the Pleat/Luton incident seems to be really bitter about it.
You bet your life. Took the club 30-odd years to recover from what was for me the birth of the 'Typical City' phenomenon.
I was in Piccadilly Station last weekend and the AFC Wimbledon fans were getting handshakes and high fives from us after they did Luton in the play-off. Old school Blues bear grudges to the grave.

almost impossible this, there has been so many downs, reading all ur posts brought back some painful memories.

1) Has to be losing 5 nil to them lot and facing all the kids at my salford school.

2) having 5 managers in one season felt like nobody could save us and it ended in relegation to the third tier.

3) watching kit symons get torn to pieces and being 3 nil down at half time at stockport.4) 3-2 home defeat to oxford united, andy dibble had a nightmare and so did every blue watching.

5) the night we brought on Barry conlon, nobody had ever heard of him, whole ground for a second thought this is a piss take then humour took over and chants of barry barry it helped me keep the faith.

Cant believe it took 12 pages for this to be mentioned! I really questioned how I was spending my Saturdays that day

Also, Dave Bassett apparently agreeing to be our manager then changing his mind over night. I could not for the life of me believe HE was turning US down. A real low.
