40th Party...

Tell her you want to go away for a week/long weekend with just her

OR

You want a nice dinner with a few of your close couple friends (no more than a table for 8 or 10) at a high quality restaurant.

We did the former for her 30th and the latter for my 40th and we still talk about how much we enjoyed both.
Exactly what i did for my 40th. Went to Ibiza for a week, family and close friends came at various points throughout the week and celebrated the day with a meal at one of our favourite restaurants. Loads of good food, wine, laughs in a fantastic setting with beautiful weather. Wouldn't do it any other way now.

Mrs Bluehammer wants me to have a full on party, in a hall, DJ and all that jazz.... i'm just not feeling it. surely to old for that sort of party?
I'd rather sit at home, argue about VAR and eat jellied eels.
help me out here.
as long as you invite your pals on here.

FFS I thought this thread was an open invitation to all BM'ers. Facking Cockernee cheapskate

In other news, meal with close friends and make them pay for their own (and yours if you can getaway with it) is the way to go
