41 years since Good Friday Boundary Park mayhem

Had to walk back to ashton,no buses would allow City fans on.What a day that was.
Lived in Moston and was shagging a girl from Chadderton at the time.
We had some proper mad days around then, the Luton 83, Oldham 84, Notts County 85 and of course the Charlton promotion game in 85. Think i went to every away game in our 83/84 and 84/85 seasons in Div2, great days to be young and daft!

Bit before my time that game but I remember watching us at boundary park Adie Mike scored an hat-trick I think.

"The match had not been made all-ticket, and so few officers were on duty that segregation was impossible. The massive City following spread to all parts of the ground. and an alarming proportion seemed intent on causing tear among the scattered groups of locals.
Some even commandeered a ladder which they used to clamber into Oldham’s so-called family stand, built some years ago with the reward for winning the Ford Sporting League. There the gleeful mob ripped up an advertising board, and used the bits to bombard a couple of lonely policeman. In another area, a policeman was struck on the head by a lump of concrete and
treated in hospital.
A police spokesman later revealed that 30 fans had been arrested"

Seats we're getting ripped out in that Family stand and lobbed at the old bill, they were like dining chairs heavy as fuck, they were just crazy days, another time comes to mind at Coventry in 85 in FA Cup, they were the first all seater ground in England and we ripped the seats out there and launched em at the old bill and their keeper Steve Ogrizovic!
Just mad days, a totally different world!

From memory some of those seats at Coventry were also being launched at Alex Williams

We were always inclusive and years ahead of our rivals
