41 years since Good Friday Boundary Park mayhem

Went to virtually all the away games mentioned in this thread and many more. Seem to remember there also being a ladder at the blackpool fa cup 2 1 defeat. I was stood in tbe away end down the side more or less level with the halfway line when a ladder appeared and was placed up against the segregation fence before loads of blues piled over into the Blackpool fans.

The best of times.

What the fuck kind of stories are the kids of today gonna be telling on the forums in 30 years time, the poor fuckers won't have any kind of adventures to recall.
I don’t ever recall the chips running out back in the day!

PTSD will be all the rage in about 10 years time - the young ones have known the bad times too.

The 1980’s were seriously violent, I missed the 70’s!! Was to young to have gone to the formentioned Oldham game, the worst I was involved in was the league cup 2-0 defeat at Everton absolute riot, tho i heard the 81 quater final was worse :-/

A shameful day I still cringe about.
It got so bad that the cops started nicking anyone.
Someone with us ended up in court and fined accused of throwing stones into the Chadderton End.
He hadn't done anything.
After the match was horrible random cars being attacked shops raided etc

The only time I was genuinely embarrassed to be a blue was the Halifax Cup debacle. Random violence against individuals and shops, I remember the car dealership near the ground getting battered.

Was that not an early away game in 1983 after luton relegated us. I was wet through to my undercrackers and my programme from that game is all but destroyed, still got it though. Might be wrong the old grey matter isn't what it used to be.
The bizarre thing was everyone was in t shirts as the day had started off boiling hot then it changed at ht and everyone was like a drowned rat.

Oh come on. The big hard blokes on here had a great day!! You know the ones - overweight, shaved head, Reform voting and usually very small penis. Don’t spoil their memories mate it’s not fair

Such a generalisation. Do you know the demographics of the city firm back in the 80s.

And anyway most involved would have been in their late teens and early twenties.

I know football hooliganism is out of date but in the 80s and 90s it was part of British culture. I’m not saying it’s right but people are making out they are murderers and scum of the earth.

Obviously I was talking about what they are like now!!! And I’m so sorry if I ‘generalise’ a hooligan. Part of British culture? Fuck me! What a load of bollox
