I'll go along with whatever Gary Neville says it is, with him being the best pundit and the only man on TV that knows what he's talking about.

gary is wrong.

4-1-3-2 is played with one DM and three CM's. we did not play with 3 CM's. our midfield is always a 2 man midfield.

You need to learn that Gary is never wrong, the audacity of some people?

Gary ! Is that you !?

The formation is no different to what Mancini played at times when De Jong was here playing the Dinho role.

it is the same formation, but we play a different style now .. high line, high tempo and we press instead of containing like little cowards.

A bit, although he tended to play de Jong alongside Barry with yaya in front of them in a 4231. When Mancini started to favour 4222 in the 11-12 season De Jong didn't get as many starts because yaya dropped alongside Barry.

It's the clear differential between the two, fernandinho sweeping up deep and yaya playing around their box which I liked.

that option is still there for pellegrini.

toure, nasri and silva can all play in that hole when required.

i remember when pellegrini put nasri behind negredo vs bayern munchen, it worked very well.

and Jovetic?

I've always said you just aswell have ten men on the pitch than play Nasri out wide but when he tucks inside he's a different animal, it's no coincidence that his best games are when Silva's not on the pitch, they both play in the same space so it rarely works when they're both on the pitch.

His best and only decent game last season was away to West Ham playing in the Silva role when he was out.
.

Title winning season. Spurs vs city (2-3)

Plus at Newcastle last year as well as home, at Norwich last year. I don't think it's really about the 2 not being able to play with each other but getting everyone to play hard together. We have been so slow as a team and in tempo that the team is always facing 10 in the box which is hard for everyone. Harder with no pace. Forces intricate passes that don't always come off. Plus Nasri has been off most games in general regardless of Silva playing or not.

it is all about the movements. if the fullback and strikers aren't moving then nasri is forced to make one of those backpasses that we all hate.

nasri has been in good form for a few months, if he keeps going the way he is, he might earn himself a permanent place in the first team.
