44 | Kalvin Phillips - 2025/26

Having Phillips back in the squad sums up the current mood at City. He’s had two failed loan spells away from City, couldn’t secure a move away this summer and some are thinking he might be an option. He’s wank.
10 games on the bench and some minutes in EFL cup games which are already won might secure a loan in Jan...would've thought that's the strategy

From the inside city episode you can see that Kalvin was on the flanks and taking up wide positions and crossing the balls into box. They are defo trying and looking at
him at RB role in trainings.

If he is capable he might get a game to show and put his case forward. Otherwise it’s a lost cause.

Fuck that, I’d rather see an academy lad get his minutes.
Fair enough, but somone else may se a benefit in not having him moping around and not having to pay 100% of his wages. Plus City might want to be seen to be honouring the conditions of his contract...it's either that or get him to train in the car park like Chelsea have done to Sterling.

Everyone deserves a 2nd/3rd/4th chance. However, square pegging him into the round hole that is RB (if that's what they do) just seems like a cruel and unusual punishment.

everything but buying a right back, eh? Whats wrong with our squad planning? Apparently not good enough RB out there but kalvin might be good enough. That’s crazy

He was a starting midfielder for England at EURO 2020. I think he’s now on a path similar to Dele Alli’s.

Well, there's a vacant AT place in the squad and Henderson has managed a come back....what's to Iose? A generous act and shows what a good employer we are.

A generous act? This isn't a charity!

It's an indication of desperation on the part of Pep and his coaching staff, and shows a dearth of talent at the club, if failed midfielder Kalvin Phillips is seen as a viable option in any playing position at City.

He's not been well you know, if his ankle has mended Kalvin could do a job for us in extremis.

I think Pep 'killed him' psychologically when he publicly criticised him. He's never been the same since.

He was terrible when he played for us, terrible when out on loan, and he didn't have a sniff of a new club during the transfer window.

He'll watch his weight, train properly, be available to play, and sit in the stand watching matches for free until his contract runs out. And I won't blame him if he does just that.

Or we might get him a loan in January on the back of his efforts to get in shape over the coming months.
