A new, young player forced to play every game due to a horrendous injury list. He did superbly, but, like Reis, the intention would have been gentle introduction, and that is now what is able to happen.
IMO this notion of a ‘gentle introduction’ to first team football for new signings is a complete modern day football nonsense

You must therefore think that new players are immediately 'ready' then, and will not improve as they become familiar with a new nation, league, manager, colleagues, and patterns of play.

Khusanov has shown huge potential, but it is also clear that there are aspects of his game that are not at the elite level yet. He is 21, with years of development ahead of him. Earning his place back will be good for him, and he will get the opportunity as Pep's comments about unavailable players resonate - I suspect JS and NA may well not be with us for too much longer.

What’s all this bollox I’m reading about shampoo and pep ? Is there any bit of truth in this ?

Agree with me or not, but Pep is killing his confidence. I understand taking him out of the spotlight, etc., this all makes sense, but this guy was our player of the month, rock solid, MOTM pretty much every time he started, and we bench him for many weeks/months? I don't think this is good for him or us.
I agree mate . I have a bad feeling about this signing and I’ll be pissed iff is this goes south as he will be fucking quality for us .

Head and shoulders our best defender since January, so it’s a bit odd that he’s not playing anymore.
He is here as the back up to Dias. Dias was out injured so he was thrown into the firing line, but now Dias is back and playing well.

Eventually Khusanov will become the main man at the back as Dias ages and leaves. But not yet.

I have no doubt players will always generally improve as they become more familiar with a league or new manager etc

But I don’t buy into the idea that the best way to achieve that is long spells on the bench; Khusanov has shown he is more that ready right now to be worthy of a spot given our circumstances, he even held is own at the Bernabeu and impressed.

Palace and Everton were two pretty poor teams, AK would have definitely been my choice at right back over a makeshift Nunes who is prone to serious lapses in concentration there. I just don’t see what merits there were for taking AK out of the team and how that’s beneficial to him over playing in those two games (and others).

Palace and Everton are two of the division's form sides, and both physically demanding tests.
We don't know, yet, how Khusanov performs at full-back, and Nunes and Lewis have both had excellent games on the spin.
In addition to the return of injured players, and the form of Gvardiol and O'Reilly, I suspect he may have been withdrawn because his last match was below the standards he had set for himself. He was pressed while in possession and looked vulnerable.
We, for sure, want to see Khusanov become a great at the club, so it is just a difference in how that should happen. I am sure, before long, he will get his chance, and will become a winner.

Everton had picked up 8 points in their previous 7 games winning only once?

Fair challenge - I think Palace were top of the form table while Everton have seriously improved under Moyes, but you are correct to call me out on that.

Pep also commented about how pleased he was to beat Everton given their recent run.

Everton had only lost 1 of their last 12 Premier League games, and that was a 1-0 defeat at Anfield. They played Liverpool twice in that run, along with Arsenal and Forest.

They may have drawn a lot, but you only had to watch the game yesterday to see why they are so difficult to beat.
