Seem to remember Walker’s debut at the Etihad was a bit of a horror story, too; sent off against Everton after picking up two quick cards and we ended up salvaging a draw from a game that appeared winnable. Was figuratively hanged, drawn, and quartered on here that night, so at least we seem to be more forgiving now. Maybe winning just makes us more mellow.

Anyway, If he goes on to enjoy a similar career with us, he’ll do wonderfully well.

Strangely predictable nightmare start for the lad. But it's over with now, its not cost us anything and he can bow hopefully settle in.

stalling on the deal caused that. Had we had him a week earlier, we could could have bedded him in against Salford and ipswich and not a high stakes game against a top 4 candidate.

Those saying he shouldn't have played today are just wrong. We have no other options and the games don't get any easier for a month, if he didn't play today. It's the same situation for a month unless we don't play him until March, In which case what's the point bringing him in?

Showed some impressive mental fortitude to calm himself, it would have been so easy for him to follow up the goal and yellow card with another wild challenge and get an early red in a bid to try and rectify his errors. I was honestly thinking Pep could sub him after 10 minutes, half expecting him to be told to fake an injury to spare his blushes but he stuck with it, recovered and did fine after those first 10 minutes. He'll learn a lot from that debut.

Not sure about the pace worry - he didn't really seem to ever be at full speed and we know he's fast from the videos at Lens. Even when tracking back for Palmer, he didn't seem like he was going full pelt - maybe concerned about flying in on a yellow? I thought the team gave him the ball a fair bit after the error - maybe to help him get a footing - but it was only Bernie who made himself available for passes.

Overall, he'll learn from those couple of errors and hopefully in future appearances not only will he have Dias alongside him to guide him, but he might also have a shared bit of language. Loved his sliding tackle, the block, his recovery vs Jackson and that tasty shoulder barge

Awful take.

Did he win a header or make a tackle all game? His passing was mediocre even ignoring the goal he gave away.

Literally the only plus point was that barge on Jackson to win the ball.

Like I said I hope the mistake was the reason but he looked like Eric Garcia out there.

Come off it. New league, playing with Nunes at right back. Yes he struggled for the first ten but then won a slide tackle and dispossessed Jackson.

Get behind the kid.

Anyone seen the telegraph headline? Fucking bottom feeders. It'll be up there with the KDB reject headline in a few years.

I have a child close to his age and I just can’t even imagine coming into this situation and being on this stage. With the language barrier. I was crushed for him in those first few minutes. But as we know, the first game (or even the first season) doesn’t define a player. I hope we see him flourish here.

Things can only get better.......(hopefully ;-)
I think that’s the best we can say about that debut. Felt for him but Bernado rescued him and the players then generally avoided passing to him as he didn’t really look like he wanted it.

He passing was too slow and his clearances all went to an opposition players.

The good thing was he got a standing ovation when he went off and we won so his error didn’t matter.

He can only improve.
