Would rather have him have a first game like this against Chelsea and become a world beater. Than have a Mangala and become shit after it. Personally I felt sorry for him but hopefully he can push onwards. CTID
I’m hoping we payed for him in a credit card and can invoke our 7 day cooling off period and send him back to Lens
I thought he was supposed to be rapid as well
Jackson made him look like he was running in treacle
Anyway seriously now good luck Adulkodir
I’m sure you will come good

Crowd was good today. The lad will be looked after by us.
Yep, there's many who need to realise we can influence the lads performance, even moreso when we are struggling!

Watching the chelsea goal back again, I'd like to of seen Akanji take control and put the ball into stand, thats not a criticism of Akanji just a bit of after timing and me wanting to see Akanji take more leadership.

Really like him. Aside from the opening 5 minutes, he looked assured and authoritative. Played it quickly and through the lines too.

Love how he’s aggressive with his tight marking and how he floored Jackson!

Overall promising debut IMO.

Him and Dias might form the most quietly psychopathic central defensive partnership ever.

Shout out to Saliba and Gabriel who try to play hard men though,

Awful start, letting it bounce, poor header, then an awful pass (which resulted in a correct decision to take the yellow).

It’s not one to remember, but won’t be the last time a player has a bad debut.

Let’s not forget we had a CB signed for big money who had a debut against Chelsea and looked quality, fast, strong, aggressive.

I felt we had a CB who could be a starter for next 10 years.

That player was Mangala…

So the debut ain’t always a true indicator, the team won and we move on.

Are you judging a player on his first game in a new league as a 20 year old? Are you a City fan sir?

Maybe but the lad looked like Bambi in headlights.
A very big game to make your debut in, no knowledge of the language and only in the country a few days.
Its the equivalent of the lads being bunged up in " Midnight Express"
So he does not speak French where he stayed for 2 years? A lot of our players speak French. Since Yaya and Fernandinho left no one in City speaks Russian so he really does not have anyone to talk to in the club.

Croatian is quite similar to Russian

I checked and he didn't make a tackle. I am not saying he is shit but that was as bad a debut as you will see. Weird people just outright lying and pretending he was anything but poor just because it was his debut.

Mangala had a mega debut and was fucking awful, it doesn't mean anything.
I guess you missed the sliding one when he beat Sancho to the ball you idiot

Fair play to the masses trying to spin a positive that he was decent after the 4th minute. Ha!

He looked like a bloody competition winner.
The performance reminded me of Ali Dia from that Southampton game. (Google it kids).
it was his first game and he didn’t even train with the team properly coz they travelled to paris. incredible take….

To come through that opening 5 minutes like he did showed huge character.

He was hung out to dry by Pep but came through it, he will be fine, he has something and things will get better a lot better for him but he will need time and understading.

Well... horrible start for Kodir but please be patient with him !

In Lens, he was NOT a starter in his early days. He won his place step by step.

I read something about Patrice Evra. His first match for Manchester United was disastrous. He was taken off at half-time. Ferguson told him: "You're going to stay on the bench for a few games, you watch and you learn." And he did.

Absolutely this. I was thinking after 5 minutes that he could be taken off, but he stuck at it well and improved. I thought that took a lot of bottle. Time will tell, but hopefully he will be fine. He is certainly quick.
