2 years minimum before another title challenge?I’m a big fan of what I’ve seen so far from him; I initially wanted us to leave Branthwaite at Everton for another year to develop under Moyes, but given Stones and Ake’s injury record plus Akanji and Dias’ relative mediocrity, I’d go in for him this summer and pair them moving forwards. Realistically we’re probably another 2 years minimum before a legitimate title challenge, so we might aswell establish them now and allow them to grow together.

I suspect we’ll be in the running next season as title challengers. We’ve already had some early signs of squad improvement with the Khusanov and the other new signings, we’ll add to that, Rodri will be back and hopefully our defensive injuries won’t be anything like this seasons have been.
Don’t underestimate the extra rest the players are getting for the next couple of months with no midweek Champions league games and the extra physical, mental and emotional load that goes with that.
Yes, we have the Club World Cup to think about but our players will have had more rest between games and thus recovery than they have had in 7 or 8 years and that will be great for body and mind.
Add to that a revitalised Pep chomping at the bit to get back to the top of the tree and you have the recipe for a very interesting 2025/26 season.

Agree, but I'm never quite sure why it should be more impressive to play good football without speaking the language...As it stands, he is our best player. It's Khusanov and 10 other names. He gets MOTM every week. Doesn't even speak English (yet). I will leave it at that.
For me, it's because it makes it difficult to communicate with you teammates. You can't just tell them where to position themselves, where to make a run, where to move. Nothing. You don't understand what they want from you either.
