Poor guy had Lewis next to him. So he basically had to cover for 2 players again since we didn’t have a Right back
Jesus Christ, I have seen the replay of both goals, what the fuck did Lewis have to do with any of the goals? It wasn't even from his position. The only goal that came from a blunder from Lewis was the one Mitoma scored and it was correctly ruled out as a handball. Do we have some kind of vendetta against the kid or what? It's weird how everyone seems to be picking on the kid for everything even the things he wasn't involved in. It's disgusting

Happens all the time on here. It’s the bullied kid in the school playground mentality. The bullies were dicks at school and they are on here too

One of the things that most impresses me about this lad is how quick he is to go to put out fires that basically have nothing to do with him. Complete fuck-up between Nico and Rúben just before half-time (should have been a goal, to be honest) — Khusa gets over in double quick time. He doesn't quite make it, but that's immaterial. The mere fact that he's almost there is impressive in itself. As I say, it was absolutely not his fault in the first instance. And it's at least possible that he put the Brighton player off just by his proximity, along with Rúben.

Today & everyday.

Its obvious how his teammates avoid passing the ball to him as much as possible

That might affect the build up from the back

Thats why I think sooner or later, Vitor should be ahead of him in the pecking order.

Khusanov might best the best defender in the team, but definitely he is the least comfortable one with the ball.
And meanwhile, Newcastle beating Liverpool 2-0 right now, after 80 minutes 13 shots to 5, 5 shots on goal versus 1.....

With a 62% pass accuracy.

Totally disagree with your views on Khusanov, however I like Reis and I’d like to see Pep go back to the treble winning tactics of 4 x centre backs

Khusanov Reis Dias Gvardiol…..and I think Reis is a good enough footballer to step into the Stones role.

However, given Pep’s reluctance to trust youth….I very much doubt we will see anything like.

Josko needs to be played at CB ,
Or maybe not.

Josko seems OK on defense. But Khusanov is a beast. Pace, tackling ability and defensive nous is frankly way beyond anything I've seem from Josko. Khusanov is young and is going to make a few mistakes - but his upside is huge and I think he'll become one of the P/L's best defenders.

Josko on the other hand is an enigma. He's shown himself to be OK but not spectacular on defense - but he's extremely good (for a defender) when going forward on attack.

That's because he is being played out of position .

He is a young kid whose strengths are obvious. His ball skills can be coached and he will learn from the more experienced players around him. No player is the finished article at his age.

This popped up on my phone.
From transfrmarket

No players rose more in value than Isak and Nwaneri, with both receiving +€25m upgrades to take their new market values to €100m and €55m respectively. Bournemouth centre-half Huijsen received the next biggest upgrade (+€24m to €42m), followed by new Manchester City signings Abdukodir Khusanov (+€23m to €35m), and Nico Gonzalez (+€22m to €40m).

I'd take him being the best defender in the team the way we've played.
Lads been here 3 months - give him some time for christ sake.
He arrived as a good defender, the rest needs work NOT people lumping on what he's not great at

Assuming he doesn't shout this from the stands, I don't quite see the harm in pointing out the very obvious flaws in players, regardless of their tenure at the club.

I have this daft view that due to the language barrier and his shyness, that Pep and the other players had no idea he was getting married. Who knows.

I don't see it with him tbh, he has pace which is great and clearly wants to throw himself into a tough challenge with a few shoulder barges and slide tackles. I have yet to see him cope with a 1v1 defensive issue well, he isn't able to press infront of strikers to disrupt holdup play, his passing is very 1 dimentional if its not inside to the cb its lazy to the rb /the right winger running back towards him.

The verdict is still out but I want to see him attempting some progressive passes as relying on Dias to play every ball into midfield is non sensical. I also would like to see him dispossessing people on the press and holding his own defensively.

He is young but for me has a lot of learning to do
