Didn’t need to be subbed off although I think the substitution was more to get width to the byline in NOR and made sense to sub him over Gvardiol/Dias.

No concerns with Khusanov though.

Subbing him off was the right decision.
Noticed that when he makes a mistake, it gets to him and he struggles to recover.
He was the same when he scored the own goal few weeks ago, he was terrible after that. Same again today after his booking. Sure it will just be an age/experience thing

I thought he had a few dodgy moments today. A few times passing back to Eddie on his weak foot. One time showed incredible pace to get back, but then got his pocket picked by the attacker. I know we're all excited that he's the new messiah, but it's important to remember he's still a kid that's going to have some bad patches while he learns.

Good post. He's not the finished article yet, far from it. But he definitely has potential. He'd benefit from playing in a settled back four

Be on the lookout for the latest paid professional al football commentary for those who clearly don’t either watch our games or do their homework!

Referring to Khusanov’s error in his first match against Chelsea and how he performed today.

Putting their foot in their mouth effectively making fools of themselves, likely to go unchecked.

This, compared to how well he’s performed since that one error. For several games now.

I just watched and heard one commenting on the FA quarterfinal against Bournemouth, following their saying,

“There’s no getting away from” the positive performance by O’Riley today..

“..and there’s also no getting away [from]…Kuhsanov has a really tough time in his fledgling Man City career…”.

That is a direct quote.

Even if I can see why watching every club's matches is difficult, there are ways to learn even if one cannot.

Fan forums, streamers/social media, local and other well regarded analysts who actually follow the club closely.

The lack of this is common across the coverage of sport.

It isn't exclusive to football, but this it is a significant flaw that leads more than a few to put put their foots in their mouths and add to discreding themselves, even whilst they may not intend this, and there are those who do put the work in.

Bournemouth obviously targeted him as the weak link in our build up and pressed him hard and he did make some errors because of that.

Totally normal for a rookie defender and he’ll learn from it, but he needs to learn our patterns of play better.
What patterns of play are those ? We have no patterns in building up. We do in the final third because of old habits and individual quality but it seems in defence it’s very much whoever is brave enough to take it gets it

He was a bit hesitant today. He made ground to get back twice, then allowed their forward to get the ball. With Nico's performance at LB, it might be good to switch him to RB on Wednesday with Dias & Gvardiol in the middle.

They’re no different to before for the defence, they’re just not as crisp as our confidence is down and are scared of making mistakes.

It’s probably the time to give him a period out of the team and keep the defence that finished. Will do him a world of good.

I don't love Sam Matterface, but he definitely said on commentary that Khusanov has bounced back from those early moments against Chelsea to have an excellent start to his City career
