I'm pretty sure Pep was waiting for the 3rd goal to sub him on but it never came. 88th minute was probably a token gesture because he had his hopes up for getting on the pitch.
I keep reading this but how do we really know if he is ready to step into this team without seeing him get substantial minutes under his belt, I fully understand that Pep's priority is the success on the field not giving Foden minutes but why not bring him on for the last 10 minutes rather than the last 3.
If hes gonna replace Silva next season then the points gap or anything else should not matter. He logged over a thousand minutes last season. That's not significant but that's also not a blip either. It'll come, I'm sure.
We're also (8) 5 points back, so it's not really ideal yet ya know?
Like having your first child, there’s rarely an “ideal time”, so I hope we aren’t basing his playing time on that criteria. He logged over a thousand minutes last season. That's not significant but that's also not a blip either. It'll come, I'm sure.

It's a long season and Foden literally has to start games during the festive period so I'm calm about his situation.
Someone has to be the elf in the Christmas plays. It was a long season last year too and Foden didn’t play a single minute in the league between December 8th and February 27th.
