Phil Foden 'came of age' last night. Some of his vision, passing and control were quite sublime. Pep will surely now include him in more starting line-ups.

He has developed physically and is getting close to be an important player for us. Bernie predicted that in 2 years Foden will be among the best midfielders in the world. Think he is perfectly right.

Phil can everything: pass the ball, dribble, create, score, run 90 minutes. We are lucky. And he is lucky to train with those players every day under the best manager in the world.

Silly. Silva is the best midfielder to have ever graced the sky blue shirt, and Foden is improving but nowhere close YET. The end.

He's certainly getting close, it's far from black and white. He'll score at least double but probably closer to treble the amount of goals for one. Shouldn't be about just Silva or Foden though as people have already said. The point is Foden is proving he's very much ready now and more starts will surely soon come.

If you played those incidents to any football fan or former professional and asked if the player should be sent off, my prediction is that no one would say yes, as long as the players identity was hidden!

That ref knew exactly what he was doing last night, probably had his orders from UEFA, to book as many City players as possible. Every time we gave a foul away a card came out whilst Atalanta got away with murder.

The lad needs experience but his inexperience, as demonstrated last night, could cost us in other situations so it's an interesting balancing act Pep has to navigate. Last night did suggest though that Foden's game time is going to have to start ramping up.

In experience could cost us? His first booking was nonsense and the 2nd was after a shite pass by Ederson. Ok you could say he should have just let the lad run straight through because of the score but he was also dead on his feet by then. Let's not make out he's some lose cannon and is in danger of getting sent off regularly if he doesn't learn. The kids fantastic, just enjoy watching him go to the very top.
