I hope I’m wrong but this won’t be ‘his moment’ as someone put above. He’ll go back to getting 5 mins once a fortnight. Does my nut in!

Over a dozen comments about him getting very few minutes against Arsenal. Relax guys and enjoy the show, stop whining about everything :)

If he can perform like that in the CL then surely he can do it against mid-table sides in the PL. Rodri, KDB and Foden midfield on Sunday please.

He’d be one of the first names on the team sheet for a lot of teams in the league.

He’s an exceptional talent and should be above Silva and Gundogan in the pecking order.

I fear that Pep believes he’s not good enough off the ball, though.

He was good enough today that not only should he start against Arsenal, questions need to be asked why he hasn't been starting games already. It's been blindingly obvious that we've needed his dynamism and energy in the midfield for *at least* a month now, and he's very clearly up to the task, so what's going on here? He's one of our two best options at the moment.

Not sure what more he has to do , to get a start against the Goons ,( at the risk of upsetting Karen :) He has to start on Sunday before Merlin , he is the player in form , Merlin has been pulling rabbits our of hats for ten years and has earned a rest , maybe a couple of weeks in Gran Canaria and he will come back and sign off the season in his inimitable style.

Guardiola on Phil Foden: "He doesn’t speak too much, it’s important not to be shy on the pitch and he’s not. He’s growing this season, in some departments he can improve, such as without the ball."

“Sometimes he has to think a little bit more on decisions without the ball, but that is normal at his age.

this kid is special, the ball smiles when he touches it and has finishing skills to boot. He needs to play cause he's so so good, as pep would say

So what's this supposed to mean? He's 19, he obviously has things to improve on. He's a better option than David Silva is right now despite those things.

Only criticism is that he doesn't get on the ball enough because when he does he is unreal. Draws players in and turns them, finds space to pass to others and always shows for the ball. Can slow it down and play keep ball and is always looking to run off or ahead of the striker.

In our system he probably needs to drop deeper a little more at times to pick up the ball more but in staying forwards he is allowing space for the other midfielders. De Bruyne would excel with Foden in the midfield too. He also runs all game, gets back to cover and will, through experience, know where to position himself off the ball in attack and defence which is what Pep is probably commenting on.

Needs to start more often, was the difference tonight because without him, Mendy doesn't get opportunities to play crosses in. His delivery was back to its best tonight as an aside.
