Most of this reads like wishful thinking. I don't think he's going anywhere fast but his progress in terms of minutes is plodding along at a snail's pace and there's only so much time him being a relatively local lad will buy us.
He's got his entire life to support City and he's got maybe a little over fifteen years to make the most of his career.
Wishful thinking? Lol. Ok I get your point and I too am guilty of wishful thinking, as well as Foden; )
Granted his progress in terms of minutes played may indeed be argued by most blues is that of snail pace currently, but I see it as tortoise and hare situation. Plodding along for now till he's fully unleashed to start big games regularly. Silva is almost nearing the end of a fine career, Foden is still near the start of a fine career, much dedication and desire needed, and staying fit and healthy permitting of course.
He already has the energy of a mad march hare, the lad is busting a gut, it's as though he is trying too hard. Pep knows this and himself and co are fully aware of too much too soon potential burn out. I'm not a gambling guy but if I was I'd wager a bet Foden will be here, let's say next 3 full seasons. Wouldn't surprise me if he becomes a one club man. Providing he's happy and still fulfilling his hopes and ambitions of course, which I presently see no reason why he won't do in future for us.
And I also agree to a point that time and money won't necessarily mean he'll be here longterm, It's just that you can see it in his body language how much City mean to him, and that is worth more money than ruing the day he me have if he ever left in haste with unfulfilled ambitions surely?
If I had his chance I'd not want to play anywhere else for 10x his salary or guaranteed salary, even for a guaranteed starting position.
Piano Man spurned us for the lure of extra money and signed saying “I am thrilled to be joining the biggest club in the world". Lol what a fuckin' reneging bullshitter he turned out to be, and he most probably rues every single day since him and his avaricious agent bent his hear to sign for the rags. When you're already filthy rich, many football players will prefer counting trophies won to millions earned, (or not earned in his case), especially after they've retired.
Foden will have financial advisors no doubt. He'll also have advice, both from the club, a fatherly figure in boss Guardiola and his own Father family and friends. Plus the love of blue well wishers obviously means what only he knows right now.
Having read about him he strikes me as a modest down to earth lad who's sole motivation is not fame n' fortune. He loves He loves this club deeply. He likes fishing to escape pressure and unwind, and in particular Catfishing on the Ebro in Spain. I might let him take me and offer my 49 years angling experience and 16 years 10 trips or so angling expeditions to Spain and Italy in pursuit of real river monsters, for a nominal fee and freebie trip of course.
Now I really am wishful thinking mate: )
