I don’t see him deciding to leave unless nothing changes next season. Pep has made numerous comments about not going into the market to replace Silva because we have Phil. So I think Foden will wait to see who gets David’s minutes in the centre. And nobody would be surprised if it’s Gundogan/Bernardo.

Pep is cutting his nose off despite his face, by continuing to start Silva over Foden. Silva is gone next season and Foden will be behind the curve on development.

Touted as the main replacement for Silva but most times Silva sits out it is injured, Foden doesn’t play. At the moment then he is not seen as the replacement for Silva. Only Pep knows what goes on in training and we have to trust him but I would have thought if we are planning for next season then he has to start more. He didn’t even start at the swamp in the Carabou cup in which we played no strikers, which almost says he is good enough for the early rounds but not good enough for a game like this. Surprising he didn’t start that one for me.

No doubt he will start against Fulham but are these games enough to really judge if he is good enough to take over from Silva.

Most of this reads like wishful thinking. I don't think he's going anywhere fast but his progress in terms of minutes is plodding along at a snail's pace and there's only so much time him being a relatively local lad will buy us.

He's got his entire life to support City and he's got maybe a little over fifteen years to make the most of his career.
Great post. Foden isn't being played enough especially in a team that are not playing aswell as they should and could be. Pep s stuborness is stifling his career.

I hope you are right. But I'm sure I'd be quite frustrated if I were him

I think Bernardo takes over for Silva so foden would still be no2 in the pecking order for that position. He should see more minutes in that case as a direct replacement. I think we should use him more as a left forward too. Bernardo middle and foden outside him and they could interchange seamlessly.

Thing is, would we have done any worse had Foden played yesterday? Those games are ideal for giving him minutes for me. We are in zero danger of not making top 4 the way the teams below are faring and the league was gone months ago. Only the cups are important this season now so they are the ones where strong teams should be played. Maybe that’s why he didn’t play at the swamp.

Im with you. I’d argue we’d have a better chance of winning as we are so reliant on a good press and good energy in midfield.

We really should stop talking like this. It suggests he may be undeserving.

At present, he'd make the starting 11 best players. So would Garcia. We are just pretending the older guys are better. Recent performances disagree with these beliefs.

To much sentiment with out going players or older players the likes of foden and Garcia,Harwood-Bellis should be getting more minutes and experience,Saturdays game especially a home one is perfect for giving them more game time and getting them adapted to the first team squad ..
