Hopefully he will start tonight and give everyone a much needed lift.
Oh dearHe’s probably not going to make the bench once Sterling is back in a week or two. In fact, if Sterling is fit for the Carabao Cup Final then there’s pretty much no chance of Foden making the bench for it (barring anyone getting injured).
You can add leory to that alsoHe’s probably not going to make the bench once Sterling is back in a week or two. In fact, if Sterling is fit for the Carabao Cup Final then there’s pretty much no chance of Foden making the bench for it (barring anyone getting injured).
So what's your theory?I'm so tired of this argument. Setting KDB aside, Phil's competition for a place includes an obviously declining 34 year old David Silva, Ilkay Gundogan, who while a very good player, is someone who just about everyone would prefer to see less of at the eight, and in a stretch, Bernardo, who is having a poor season by his standards and for the last two years has primarily played the wing anyway. This isn't some impenetrable murderers row here, there's been plenty of space for him to get more minutes. Oh yeah, and we're 25 points back of the leaders at the moment, so this argument is completely irrelevant. We're barely even playing for anything right now.
On why he isn't playing? It's a whole list of things but it can be boiled down to the idea that developing youth players simply isn't a priority either for Pep or for the club, despite Khaldoon's constant lip service. The squad is bloated as a result of choosing to participate in every trophy. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but the reality. When other clubs have injuries they often turn to youth, we turn to other internationals. Combine that with how hierarchical Pep is in his squad selection, where seniority clearly matters to him, and you get very few opportunities for ANY young player to play, not just Phil.So what's your theory?
