Depends if Southgate has grown a back bone or not. If not then he will be picking Grealish (probably at the rags), Alli, Maddison amongst others ahead of him.
Phils getting good press so therell be no heat there and how can yo ignore him technically? Now hes staring prem games, i dont see how southgate can leave him out

I know us football fans can have a frequent tendency to get far too over excited about players coming through just at the noisy neighbours about Januzaj etc. I do however think that this guy is completely above the rest, the way he plays the game the ease in which he runs past seasoned prem professionals and his ridiculous eye for a pass is a joy to watch.

I think we will be talking about one of the greatest players to have donned the glorious sky blue shirt when his career is over, a sublime footballer and even better a local lad!

All the pundits and Micah to a certain degree are all old school when it comes to how you bring on young talent . Souness and that era are all tough love, loan them out let them get kicked around the lower leagues, it builds character, game time is everything, you can't beat a rainy cold night in Wrexham to hone your skills against a journeyman defender on his 9th club, because we all know the greatest tacticians and managers are in the lower leagues . What Foden is getting is one to one tuition from the masters of the game, what Foden picks up from kdb and David every day by just having lunch with them, is more than he would get at a lower league team who really don't care about his education and advancement .

Have to agree 100% with this, he is coming along in leaps and bounds.. starting to stamp his authority on the game. If he keeps on developing at this rate we could be looking at something special.

I love the way he seems to be enjoying his football and his place in the squad. That smile when he heard he was named man of the match was joyful. I think he realises how lucky he is to 1) have his talent and 2) be at a club where he is appreciated and well managed.

He reminded me a bit of Silva under Mancini. Starts on the left but spends a lot of the time coming inside.

Potentially England's best player in a few years.

He's as mint as it gets when he's on. NBC match commentor said Bernardo has the best first touch in the PL, but I genuinely don't think Phil is far behind.

When Merlin blasted a pass yesterday across the box that wasn't intended for him and he absorbed it like it was nothing was surely a sign of this.

Ironic, as we all know, that the pandemic has likely helped his career to push on.

Southgate is probably very happy to see this as Foden is what England have been crying out for from midfield for some time, even though there are some clear similar talents along with him (Maddison, Greilish, Mount), I still think he has the most potential, is the youngest, and has experience on title winning sides playing along with world class talents and the best manager, arguably in the world.

Pep will play him more due to match fitness concerns, and with 5 subs he's sure to get more time on the pitch.

At the moment looking like he can really challenge Silva and Gundo for the 2nd spot. However, I mostly expect Pep to rotate as he has the past 2 games.

Next season...it's on.

I think he’s wasted on the left and offers much more than Bernardo does as a central attacking midfielder.

I think he should be playing elsewhere too, but at this stage, he needs game time, so if that means he plays on the left so be it. He and Pep will naturally find the right place for him in this team when he cements himself as a regular.
