Where are all the acadamy kids we sold now? nowhere because they weren't good enough

Are you saying the academy kids we sold are “nowhere” just because they’re not at city? Lots of them are at very good clubs.

To be perfectly honest, I find this bullshit patronising and insulting. All you're doing is trying to convince everyone that one of your insecurities is actually a strength.

You certainly wouldn't be the the first to make the insinuation that you're in a better position to judge the situation because you have no real emotional connection to the club or its surrounding area but it's always just a daft way of discrediting an opposing view. You even laid the groundwork for it a couple of pages ago by suggesting it's a "touchy subject" because Phil's a local lad.

Many of us have been watching players come and go long before you would have started following the club. Plenty of those players have been local lads who we can recognise as being not good enough. Phil being from Stockport would mean absolutely fuck all if he wasn't as talented as he is and many of us have been watching him long enough to know exactly how much potential he has, Pep and Txiki included.

It's not even about them being local. Do you think I cared more about us losing Brandon Barker than I did about Brahim Diaz?

This "I'm a foreign fan which actually means I'm in a better position to judge" crap needs to die a death.

It's not patronizing, it's experience. The one that comes from the moments like "before you even became fan" that you do in your second line. I don't care about it, otherwise I wouldnt post here as I get those each here and there whenever I dare to jump into some touchy subject. As long as I post "get in", when we score, I'm fine. But unfortunately, I've got too much time to just post those.

Phil is a local lad and it means more the Brahim DIaz. And it's not anything wrong, it's quite normal. What's wrong is what I wrote in the last part of my post. Bringing youth at all cost, like City of 30 years ago. People were still moaning about Lopez or Suarez few posts above mine, in the moment when City hold titles in all English competitions. That's pretty odd thing to do. There's no back to back titles, there's no giving Liverpool a stick with Lopezs, Suarezs, Diazs... we don't get 96 points without Bernardos, Sterlings or Sanes. And they were there because we didn't play Lopezs and Suarezs but sold them and bought those three and the rest.

Can't repeat it enough - he needs to go out on loan. This is such a critical period for him in his development and he's not playing the elite football he needs

He said the ones we sold could have done a job,a job is not good enough is it,they are not doing a job in a team like ours are they?

I've been here for almost five years and supported City for over a decade now. Before we won the FA cup, before I knew about the takeover, etc. This is your club, mine, and everyone else's that is a blue. Try not to forget this is the main spot for the locals and that the club means more than just football for a large majority of the posters here. I think you make good points and I agree with the majority of them but some perspective is needed at times when you post here. @Tugay One Cup is right here, I think you were out of line.

Stick around, keep posting. This is a great community with really good people.

I'm bit confused now mate. Tugay says me that it is not important Phil being local and you say me what I know it is, that it is important because it's not just football. I know that and completely understand that. I know that I am not thinking like that, don't find it macchiavelic enough and wrote about it.

I'll stick around of course and continue to post things from my perspective. I can't do anything different, it would be fake and I'm not fake. It won't get me all the love at times like this, but it's not a contest.

No, it is patronising. It's also a giant crock of shit.

The one that comes from the moments like "before you even became fan" that you do in your second line.

The significance of that line is that many of us are far more experienced than you in witnessing local talent coming through the academy and dealing with losing them.

You've essentially strut in and acted like we've never had a local player through the academy before and can't possibly have the soundness of mind to assess talent fairly because of it.

I don't give a shit where you're from or how long you've been supporting the club, I genuinely couldn't care less. I've had fiery PMs from renowned gobshites on here because I've defended someone who is young and American because, as I've just said, I don't think that shit has any bearing whatsoever on your opinion of on-field matters.

If you can't present a decent counterpoint to someone's argument other than "you're not from round here" or "my opinion is more logical because I'm not from around there" then all your doing is devaluing whatever it is you have to say and need to work on your conversational skills.

As long as I post "get in", when we score, I'm fine. But unfortunately, I've got too much time to just post those.

You need to accept that people are always going to have a different point of view and that there are plenty of soft arses who will look to have a dig if you say anything negative. That's the way it is.

You also need to take your head out of your arse and realise that you're not the only one who gets that treatment. Look through this thread and you'll see people more respected than you or I taking flack for refusing to simply nod and accept everything the club is doing. It goes with the territory of this being a club forum.

Of course I accept people are having different views. I don't agree with them, sometimes strong and I argue them and sometimes it's not that important. You have to agree I have different view too, though.

That's giant crock of shit, as you'd say. Not only I never hinted about it, I even said that I thought some people have a mentality of City of 30 years ago when bringing a youth from academy was main thing to do. How would that fit with "like we never had a local kid" is known only to you. What I also said is that I feel some people are feeling pressure of media and their rags/dippers fans mates about the line that we're not bringing the kids from our academy and keep buying players and I'll stick with that. I can't find another explanation why would someone feel bad about Lopezs and Suarezs while having a team like this.

Of course I accept it. I don't have an issue with your opinion, I just have an issue with how you presented your opinion as being on a higher level to others because you're from somewhere different to them. It's bollocks mate.

If you came on here and said you reckon Phil's shit and won't make it because of that then that's fair enough. I might enter into a debate about it with you but I wouldn't find it anything close to offensive.

In fact, if you said everything else and simply left out the last part then I wouldn't have had a problem with it whatsoever.

The implication of your post was pretty clear. You thought you were in a better position to judge a local talent because your geographical location supposedly leaves you unburdened by emotion. How can you see that as anything other than patronising?
