So is Grealish leading Phil astray?
There are some indications that he is easily influenced - Greenwood and now Grealish.
Maybe he had a kid too young. There is no way I could have coped with the responsibility at 18.
Well done to Pep for not putting up with any crap. Hope the message gets through to both of them.

Foden and Grealish are similar characters, I think. Both a little too fond of good times and parties and women who aren't their partners. Both lacking a significant cog of common sense. They're both huge talents with that spark of self-sabotaging dickheadery that could ruin them if it's not very carefully managed.

Grealish is new to the club. At Villa he was like a beloved but wayward son, constantly shielded from the consequences of his behaviour. The whole club bent over backwards to try to keep him out of trouble because he was not only their best player but also their talisman and their identity. In his early career he faced discipline, sure, but as time went on he was more and more sheltered, too important to get in trouble if it could be kept in-house. In a lot of ways he had half of Birmingham looking out for him, a beloved local lad who was vital for Villa and heavily involved in the community. He was so loved that it was almost impossible for him to do anything that resulted in actual consequences for him (although of course he managed it with the lockdown rule-breaking/dangerous driving incident).

Foden's been at City since childhood and subject to Pep's discipline for years. He's done stupid stuff in the past and faced consequences for it. His whole career, he's been in the City machine and being reminded of expectations and rules, and in recent years he's been directly managed by Pep, who will have been very clear about how he's expected to behave.

I don't know what they've done so I'm not going to speculate on how incredibly stupid they've both been, but they've made Pep discipline them so I'm assuming it's not nothing. The truth is that I'm more disappointed in Phil because although he's younger, he can't possibly claim ignorance. Jack may well need a period of close man-management and intervention to get him on track with what's expected of him now he's not the golden boy, but Phil should be perfectly aware of how he should behave and what will happen if he doesn't.

It's good that they're friends, but we need to be surrounding them with cooler heads. They both idolise KDB, perhaps he could be persuaded to do some leadership and try to guide them down a more sensible path.

Why is this dominatrix issue a problem anyway ? :D Is it illegal to go to the prostitutes (or whatever this dominatrix girl is..) or what's the problem anyway, this guys aren't slaves and after work hours - they are free to do anything that's legal and can't harm their physical form for the next days training sessions :D

Everything other than that is media bullshit and not that important for me..

As for the Newcastle game, I think Pep made rotation there.. Phil and Jack played against Leeds, so he gave minutes to Ryad and Raz..

That's what google told to me:

In Great Britain, the act of engaging in sex as part of an exchange of sexual services for money is legal, but a number of related activities, including soliciting in a public place, kerb crawling, owning or managing a brothel, pimping and pandering, are crimes.

If it's true...

If it involves a breach of Covid rules (either government guidance or club requirements) then it's a problem and it potentially puts the club at risk of an outbreak, not to mention the message it sends about wealthy privileged footballers ignoring the rules that the common folk have to follow (it's the same sort of bad publicity as when politicians do it, although not quite so bad).

Depending on the nature of the services the dominatrix offers, there's potentially also a risk of injury to the player, which would impact the club in the same way as any other injury, but would be particularly frustrating as it'd arise from the player taking non-football risks with his health.

If the person involved is in a relationship then it's a problem in the great tradition of celebrity sex scandals, which I know some people care about more than others. Regardless, for those who do care - it's a question of honesty and loyalty.

It's also perhaps not the best look for a club (especially one connected with the Middle East and so a target for accusations of being associated with various human rights abuses, and especially one that has a current player currently awaiting trial for sexual crimes) for its players to be buying sexual services considering the sex industry, while legal, is notoriously exploitative and closely associated with a range of criminal activity.

And given the power dynamics involved in those kinds of sexual activities, it leaves the player open to all sorts of negative publicity and abuse that might negatively affect their performances on the pitch.

WOW.. Thanks for this detailed comment and effort.

Now I'm angry as well !!!!

Lots of people trying to read a lot into some very vague half rumours.

I think we should all come to terms with the fact he's going to have a few run-ins with the red tops. He's a 21 year old who missed out on all the fun a teenager has from 15-20 because he was working every day to fulfil his dreams. Now he's started checking those off and he's got the big contract, he's going to catch up on the nights out he missed out on. 2 babies at home isn't going to change that - if anything it sort of puts a clock on it.

It's natural, it's healthy too IMO, otherwise you end up with a Tiger Woods situation where they reach 30 and go way overboard.

You'll be hard pressed to find a world class England player in the last 40 years who didn't get out of line a few times, and the only reason you didn't hear about foreign players is theirs was reported in foreign press. Messi went out almost every night with Ronaldinho and Deco for a couple of years, and he ended up alright.

Pep's got loads of experience dealing with this, he's been there and done it himself, so when he does start having a bit too much fun, he'll steer him back onto the road - which is what this is.

Never heard so much drivel of an excuse in my life, tell his partner it is nothing love

Excuse for what? What's he actually done? Oh that's right, nothing.

His relationship with his girlfriend is between the two of them.
