disagree there. they are about the same pace. but messi has higher pace with the ball at his feet and his ball control is outherworldy. but I do think foden can become as effective as messi if he is played in the false 9 in his own way.

Messi is on another level ability wise to anyone who has played the game in the last 30 years and that includes Ronaldo.

Looking forward to seeing this dribbling from Grealish then because Foden can glide past defenders with ease. So far Grealish has had great difficulty skinning fullbacks for City.

Foden doesn't have Messi's pace.

Not off the mark but he turns just as quick and is up to speed in 3 strides.

I think Greenwood is a Daniel Sturridge-level player, personally. Very sharp finisher but not sure he has enough about him to become a truly great player

Imo, Foden can be the best English player ever. But it's not good for him to be compared to Messi. He's better than Messi in one department: energy. He can work harder for the team than Messi. Therefore, he's much more useful in defence than Messi. But in attack nobody can be as good as Messi. His ability to pass and strike the ball is unique. Maradona was a fantastic passer of the ball as well and could dribble like Messi, but he couldn't score so many goals.
