The most disappointing player of the season for me. He has so much potential and uses so little, only showing flashes once every 3 games or so.

By now I think most of us can see the limitations of Grealish and Mahrez this season but somehow Foden manages to be worse most of the time when playing, making no case why he should play over them. There's a saying that footballer's value goes up when he is injured or benched in a underperforming team and I feel this is happening here. We all know what Foden is capable of and when he isn't playing we remember that but he is just hiding in games these days when playing, worse than trying and failing.

he has been in and out of the team and played in diferent roles, I think the winter world cup has messed with the flow of players focusing on the league season and for foden his form has been erratic becaue of this

A run of a few games in a set role and I am confident his form will return with a vengance

Mahrez?

I don't think we will see the best of him until Pep loosens the reins. All of our wide men are hamstrung by the stifling tactics they are clearly instructed to execute. I have never known any top side to have wide men that are instructed to be as negative as ours are. We keep the ball for keeping its sake, and what are supposed to be wide forwards are instead like having an additional two full backs in the side.

He’s been on the bench so much it’s not surprising his form (and confidence) have taken a hit. He didn’t deserve the lack of playing time he’s been given since the derby. And he’s the guy who gets moved positions time and again. Not saying he’s playing well but the reasons for it aren’t entirely of his own making. Pep hasn’t helped him at all.
Form fluctuates as can be expected, and I'm sure Pep more than anyone knows that.

What I saw last night was not only poor form, but poor attitude. Losing the ball and just shrugging and standing still will grate Pep and rightly so.

That is on the player.

This is it. He was in great form and great rhythm early in the season. ~850 minutes from 900 minutes of Prem football with 6 goals and 3 assists.

Then out of nowhere Pep stopped playing him and City’s form and performances became worse, slower and more boring… coincidence?!

Now he’s out of form and has no rhythm, although he’s still scored more than Grealish during this poor run of form, and people wonder why he’s not playing well.

Another poor performance in the middle of the park, which should put to bed the idea he can thrive in that role. He's not there yet. He was better on the left, when Rodri came on and enabled him to form triangles with Ake and Gundo. He's still much better out wide. We have to accept, in that role, we're not going to see him skin players time after time. It's a balance. But he still did enough in the final 20 minutes to create a few half chances.
