Has had the attacking joy coached out of him. Has to cut back all the time to wait for whatever tactical fucking disaster Pep wants to set up with overloads and fuck knows what. Let the kid play.

He looks lost, which is worrisome. Him and Haaland were really starting to get in sync right before the WC.

I’d start to think about giving him Bernardo’s minutes moving forward in the midfield and start to make the transition already. Clearly that’s where everyone sees him playing in the future and it certainly seems like Silva already has his head in Spain.

He just isn't really a left winger. He's better coming in from the right. I'd give him a few games in that position.

Foden playing like a Mason Mount and thinks getting into the first team is enough.

Looks nothing like a 'generational talent' right now and if anything has been overhyped.

Tbf, all his attacking flair has been kicked out of him by Pep in favour of just passing back.

That goes for all the attacking players.

Just badly out of form. Hes not the only one. Is it an off season or are we missing something in our fitness training cos so many players arent sharp.

I actually thought this was the season where he really needed to cement himself as a top player because we’ve seen flashes of it and many people expected him to be world-class, but that requires consistency.

He seems to have gone backwards this season if anything

It’s not like he’s a young kid anymore, by the end of next season he’ll be pretty much mid 20s. You have to be really establishing yourself by that age.

I don’t think playing out on the left is really helping him, but he’s put in good performances before from there, so it can’t be one of the main excuses.

It’s like his confidence is a bit shot and he’s hiding in games. Grealish isn’t probably naturally left-wing either, but when he came on today, he was able to take up good positions to get the ball. There’s no reason Foden couldn’t do that instead of being anonymous.

I said similar before the season, that it was the time to go from prodigy to world class player.

Progress is not always linear though, and maybe this little lull in form is necessary for him to regather himself and make that next push.

We can’t expect players to be at their best every season, constantly improving and committing their entire lives to football from 15 to 35.

There’s going to be periods in everyone’s life where they drift away from their job a bit, and it’s just unfortunate for us that Foden seems to be out of form when the side is doing badly.

Plus you never know what could be going on behind the scenes.

I actually think Grealish is coming into his own and we can hopefully just forget about Phil for a bit and let him work his way back.

Cancelo’s best friend could be playing LW and he’d still never pass him the ball because it would mean using his left foot instead of coming inside and dawdling for a bit.

Cancelo did not pass to Leao when their national team was 0-1 down with minutes to be knocked out of world cup...

So I don't think that anything would help.
