Most impressive aspect of his superb showing last night was his hunger/desire and his aggression.
I have been critical of his ability to contest balls and dish out a bit of fight.....but last night he was clearly in the mood and showed, while it doesnt come natural,he is learning to look after himself.

We will build a team around this lad,and he will deliver.

I suppose we'll never know what happened with him and Pep after the world cup, but if the last few games are anything to go by it's worked a treat. He looks like he is full of hunger to earn his place back and win every game going, which is exactly what we need now.

From BBC Sport

"I feel much better with my feet," said Foden. "I feel 100% fit now and comfortable. It has been one of the worst parts of my career but everyone goes through them and it is how you react.

"[The issue was] discomfort in my feet and not playing as much. I love to play football and when I don't I am a bit frustrated."

Guardiola said: "His career was always up, up, up. This season he struggled a bit and was a bit down. But now he's back for the best bit of the season."

Phil Foden: Man City midfielder feeling 100 per cent after 'one of worst parts of my career'

Phil Foden lost his place because of an ankle injury with the form of Jack Grealish and Riyad Mahrez extending his time on the sidelines; Foden has returned with three goals in two games in the space of four days; Pep Guardiola says England star is back for the "best bit of the season"

It's been a good while since we have seen THIS Phil Foden, and how wonderful it is to welcome him back.

Imagine if he was having a good season...

It’s gonna be really difficult now to pick with Grealish , Mahrez and Phil all playing well. I don’t think Phil is droppable at the moment. I think when he plays we have bit of fire - unpredictablity which we don’t get as much when he play Grealish and Mahrez who have played brilliantly together.

I think I’d go: Grealish - Haaland - Foden
