I’m slightly concerned about his fitness. Pep has mentioned it and TBH I thought it was just an excuse. However, I thought he looked knackered after being on for 30 mins. I know we were down to 10 men but surely he can manage 30 mins without looking dead on his feet. More concerning is how he is likely to be handled at the WC. We can’t get 2 games a week out of him but that won’t stop Southgate running him into the ground.
Taught that too. With about 10 to go ake over hit a pass towards there cornor. Foden just gave up and complained. The ball only barely ran out of play and probably wasted a minute when he could have sprinted and put the defender just pressure

Our set up might be stifling his individuality but unfortunately for him he will have to get used to it whilst Pep is in charge. The team is the most important thing and it’s not done us too bad so far.
It’s hard to argue it’s instructions when he’s suddenly stopped taking fullbacks on and it’s been most people’s criticism or Grealish at times. I find it very odd though in certain circumstances when chasing the win if the left sided forward is instructed to not try to beat his fullback when one on one with them not us stretched.

Even more bizarre when in a similar circumstance KDB just drove straight past his man and Bernado was dribbling on the right. Messi and Ribery would go at fullbacks every time and despite being the best player ever Messi would lose possession when doing so quite a lot.:)

I thought the tempo of the game improved the minute he came on with Haaland. Could have been coincidental but he gets the ball out of his feet much quicker than Jack.

Probably had covid again and the variety that doesn't show up as a positive on covid tests.

Not to mention he's unvaxed so it probably hit him harder but even with that, the fatigue from long covid sucks.

Indeed, I noticed Pep’s ire, too, but that was his third long sprint within a very short time. Football, esp PL football 10 v 11, rarely allows you much recovery time, which is where your elite fitness comes in.

However, he’s been getting kicked about a lot and been used sparingly recently, so his aerobic recovery might not be optimal at present.

I think a nice 90 minutes midweek, preferably on the right, might do him some good. However, it looks nailed on to be Mahrez & Foden on the wings, and we all know Mahrez doesn’t do the left!!

Pep’s mantra……..don’t lose or give the ball away…….
I get that when we're ahead and in control but not when we're chasing the points, more urgency and even a bit of a gamble is needed occasionally, Grealish and Foden were poor yesterday. Kev wasn't afraid to take the defenders on and it paid off in the end.

Not really sure why he's getting criticised after yesterday. Worked his arse off, was a threat and was mostly neat in possession.
I said yesterday, nobody should be criticised for yesterday bar Cancelo for putting us under the cosh.
But BM being BM means that posters need to have at least a couple of players to slag off in order to feed their misery.

Needs. To. Fucking. Start.

However, there was a point yesterday about 85 mins in someone played a ball down the line to him (maybe Kev) which was a a little too far in front of him and he stopped, then jogged a big, then started again. Pep was fucking furious with him and he needs to cut that out. You can’t be giving up, especially not when it’s 1-1. Sounds really petty but Pep will pick up on stuff like that.

Was told yesterday Pep isn't happy with his intensity in training. Feels he's saving himself for the World Cup.

Because KDB is given licenses to do more freedom than both Foden and Grealish, Pep will less critical to KDB if he makes mistakes on his risky pass. Not so much on Grealish and Foden.

There were other instances when he was gesticulating at his teammates when a pass wasn’t perfect. He also gave a couple of hospital passes which is very unlike him. Maybe risk of injury praying on his mind but I thought aspects of his performance were out of character. Ps that is not slagging him, simply saying what I saw.
