Always saying that Phil can be a very good right winger! And he finally can cut in the middle to affect the game more than cross from the left.

IMO Jack and Phil benefit each other because they both carry enough threat and can receive/carry the ball. It gives the opposite too much to worry about.
 
Was bang on it tonight. He probably knows he's not been as influential but he worked hard on and off the ball and was brilliant. Second youngest Englishman to 10 CL goals, not bad for a midfielder. Many more to come too I'm sure.
 
Pep was pretty blunt saying he hadn’t played well recently. I think that’s clear to see but he’s also right there n that an off form Phil still works and helps the team function. Probably not the case with all our wingers.
 
I think some underestimate the impact that Haaland's introduction to the team has had on Foden's game. He has to play differently than he has done as now we has to link with a true No9 rather than a midfielder coming late into the box or the opposite winger popping up on the far post.

It is also worth noting that he didn't play any games during pre-season.
